Just bought this, my own little piece of bargain bargedom...
Amazingly, no wheelarch rust. OK, so it's the 220, but having been wound up by people selling 300s (they're either big money for average cars that should be more like £1500, or being sold by irritating wideboys who've added 3-pin alloys and who refuse to haggle as they want to get their money back from said 3-pin alloys), I compromised. Thing is, the 2.2-litre 16v twin-cam is more powerful than the loping 2.3 single-cam it replaced, and a lot more economical.
I also don't have to change my username. Waft on! I pick it up on Saturday.

By the way Sam, have you found any Star of Bengal takeaway menus stashed in the glove box yet?

Funnily enough it spent most of its life in Scotland.

Not really. The interior and exterior colour scheme is not by Stevie Wonder. The mileage is not interstellar and the engine rebuild gives piece of mind.

I actually think they may start to creep up a little for the low mileage minters. Cars like the one advertised are a very interesting proposition as the main worry, the engine, has been sorted so I guess you'd be left with maybe refreshing the odd bush here and there and possibly the rads but other than that it should only be consumables to keep it in tip top shape. I would go for it if I was in the market for one. This must be the bottoming out point at that money shirley?

Well this morning an early blast was called for to blow away the Monday cobwebs.
Noise like a C Type on acid, grunt like a TVR and brakes from the 50's all add up to a whole load of tweed like hooligan exploits
I took a couple of dawn raid pictures for your perusal......

ETA: That £10k 996 looks fantastic. If I could, I would - instead of either an E46 or E39 ///M.

Cheers chaps, standard seats in heated schwarzmookow and I know this is daft but one of the things I like about it being a late one is that it has electric rather than manual rear windows. I'd like to say she'll be getting the usual OTT cleaning session immnently, however as of tomorrow morning she's in daily service as she was bought to do. Well it was that or 60+ miles a day in a 750i, so with a suitable application of man maths; the numbers worked out that the E36 will pay for itself within 3 months. After that it's practically a free car!

Lovely purchase sir. It really is incredible how much E36 you can get for so little cash these days. Mine has been an admirable companion on a 80 mile a day commute, comfortable, refined and remarkably thrifty for a 2.8.ETA: That £10k 996 looks fantastic. Well a friend of mine had annual maintenance bills of £7k and £8k in her last two years of ownership. If that helps?Excluding fuel presumably? Just how much of a dog was it?

Nothing other than highlighting (again) that you've been out giving it the full Toad in a rather fine Jaguar and I haven't. It's nothing but pure unbridled jealousy on my part. But I can live with it. It should serve as a reminder to me to work harder and PH less...
You get to enjoy some fine cars L100N

Which doesn't bode well either way.
