3 things you Love & Hate about your car..
Discussion
'14 Alfa Giulietta QV
Love:
The looks
The noise (so much better than the pre 2014 cars)
The colour! (8C red is just the nicest finish I've seen on any car at any price)
Hate:
People asking if it's broken down yet (no, it's now the longest I haven't had to put a car into the dealer since my RX8)
It never remembers what iPod track it was playing last
It gets dirty.

Another FN2 Civic Type-R (GT) here.
LIKES
1. Drivetrain. More than powerful enough especially with Hondata (increased VTEC range, torque etc), beautiful gearbox, amazing noise, just a wonderful thing to use when you get the chance. Genuinely addictive.
2. Looks and interior. I actually like its space-ship like look, and the dash really appeals to a gadget fiend like me, feels special, lovely seats, plenty of toys (cruise, decent stereo, folding mirrors, dual climate).
3. Handling. Feels very planted, very darty and responsive, ride not bad for me (even coming from an E46 328 SE) particularly at high speed, can cover ground VERY quickly if needed. Steering better than the EP3 that came before it.
DISLIKES
1. Absolutely hideous visibility. Thick A-pillars, spoiler that virtually renders the rear view useless (you see if you can tell if that is a cop car behind), impossible to see the extremities of the car.
2. Tiny fuel tank means I seem to be a weekly visitor to Shell, and I don't even do that much driving.
3. Standard brakes don't really feel up to hard use. Fade is an issue even on the road on a decent hoon.

Monaro VXR [6 litre LS2 engine]
Love the following:
1) the noise, especially on start up and at lowish speeds, from the V8 & exhaust
2) the whole "analogue" feel of heavy shift/clutch/steering/big engine/rwd/few gadgets
3) the looks
Not so keen on ("hate" is too strong a word) the following:
1) fuel consumption in the high teens
2) over-the-shoulder visibility e.g. when changing lanes
3) small boot for what is a long old car
Mike.

Like:
1) Easy speed. It's 'stage 3' so 290-300 hp and 320 ft lbs of torque mean it can get a bit of a shift on if you want.
2) Seat comfort/position. I've had people get in the passenger seat and remark on the seat comfort.
3) The cabin. The plastics aren't the greatest, but the dash and centre console have a slight angle towards the driver, the key is in the middle, next to the handbrake, the window switches are down there as well and it has a night panel button!
Dislike:
1) Little noises that are apparently unidentifiable, and only occasional with no clear cause.
2) How easily it seems to pick up stone chips. Just, loads. Good job it's silver.
3) Stereo speakers aren't bad, but could definitely be better. Shame they're such a pain to upgrade.
It's still a great car to me, despite the little niggles. All part of the experience

MK5 GTI;
Love
1) The bassy exhaust on start up and the pops, and the loud thrum as the turbo comes on (though it's fairly subtle)
2) The handling is brilliant, even standard.
3) The 'do everything and take it anywhere and not look out of place' nature of the thing. Could be 5 up on an airport run but just as easily throw it around the Nurburgring the next day.
Hate
1) Rattly trim in various places, probably expected at this age mind
2) The ride on 18s is atrocious
3) Pootling around town will see 25 mpg on average

Love:
1- The fact it does exactly what it says on the tin- It's a large sized car that can carry me and 4 friends at a good pace for lots, and lots of miles!
2- Cruise control.
3- The torque, it thrashes any of the other euroboxes that most 19 year olds run around in!
HATE:
1- GM's notorious relaibility, I mean *WHO* asks FIAT to engineer an engine?
2- Not the most inspiring car to look at really, is it!
3- It's at that point in it's life where bad stuff starts to go wrong.

2002 MINI Cooper S
Love;
- The supercharger whine, I suppose the noise in general
- The way it handles
- The fact it still looks modern, yet it's 13 years old
Hate;
- The ride quality on Sports Suspension+ and 17 inch runflats
- The oil filter canister is a complete PIA to re-seat once you've changed the oil filter
- The sunroof rattles when it's cold

Like:
1, the sound system, it is bose after all
2, the traction, ok, I've fettled with this a bit but even before she was handling well
3, the performance. so far its reasonable
hate:
1, the electrical niggles its had, so far its all fixed
2, the availability of aftermarket parts, here in the UK its not quite a well known modded car so getting anything is hard work.
3, not enough performance sometimes, I feel I can open up a bit more with time and money

MINI Clubman S Auto:
Love
(1) Combination of handling/barge with the slushmatic
(2) The quirky doors - practical for me
(3) Frameless doors
Hate
(1) Those friggin' run flats
(2) Gutters (roof and windscreen) are useless
(3) Stupid American Bongs
bong/ice warning - yes I just scraped ice off the windows
bong/tyre pressure warning - out with the gauge, another falsie
bong/ door open - yes I just opened it
bong/tyre pressure warning - stupid speed hump set you off again
bong/lights on - yes I'll be two minutes whilst I pick up the Chinese
bong/tyre pressure warning - pothole
bong/service - I know so why remind me on EVERY startup?
