The worst thing about the launch has been the negativity on here. Entirely predictable sadly.
And this is why I read very few new car reviews on PH these day, I can't help reading the comments and it always annoys me when I see the same old complaints; too heavy, too big, too turbocharged, too much tech, too fast, too ugly etc. Maybe it's time that PH drew a line in the sands of time, maybe 1998? And completely forgets that motor vehicles were produced after this....
I think this might be a classic car website nowadays.
Resurrect a great British brand with an exciting 500bhp sports car = 5+ pages of hatred.
Somebody finds a tired, unreliable, money pit of a £1,000 Alfa on Autotrader = everyone loses their minds with envy.
????????
PH - hating new stuff matters.
I do agree to some extent on the interior, TVR has always had stunning interiors and I am not 100% sold on this one based on the pictures. I think it will probably be a car you need to see in person to appreciate it. I remember when I saw photos of the then new Jaguar F Type and thinking it looked stunning. When I saw it in person I was very disappointed with how fat and bloated it looked for a sports car. This new TVR is very light and compact, how a sportscar should be, 1.2 tonnes vs the 1.8 tonnes of the F Type.
Looking at the spec I think 90k is a bargain for a GMD designed baby SLR with full ground effect and a Cosworth V8. You can always change the styling and interior, the chassis not to much and that is what they have nailed.
This image illustrates for me what is wrong with modern sportscars, the new TVR is similar dimensions to TVRs of old:

too much negativity
I think its great !!!!!
I'd be nice if we could get a picture with a person standing alongside to get an idea of its size.
I think the styling will work if it's small. Otherwise it's going to look rather clumsy - look at the radiuses on the rear lights, for example. If the units are small, they'll be okay. If not...

Not much of a looker from these pics but it is in red, a colour that only works on Ferraris so in a black it might be more pleasing. Looking forward to seeing one in the flesh though!
I thought TVRs were all meant to be purple!I'm not a fan of the styling. The front is the bd love-child of Merc SLS and Renault Clio, the sides are completely forgetable as is the glass house, the rear is just generic Japanese sports coupe.
All far too anodyne.
In that clip it sounds nice though.

The styling is so disappointing IMHO
The rear looks to Track racer, and the front looks far too bland with a silly smile with the front grill. And those wheels .................... Jesus !
TVR always stood for 911 Turbo performance for less money than a standard 911 Carrera.
Starting price of £90,000 ! Wow.
For £90k, I'd want something that looked better than a looking like a Kit car.
Think the Board of Porsche will be having a very merry Executive lunch today. So will McLaren etc.
With respect, I don't think Les' target market is the Porsche or McLaren mob. That's for the brave, safe - dare I say dull - souls.
So a Cayman GT4 is dull?? And bought by boring people. LolThe rear looks to Track racer, and the front looks far too bland with a silly smile with the front grill. And those wheels .................... Jesus !
