That would be a lot better with "...we call 1911" and a pic of the appropriate Colt...
I don't get it.

<googles>
Oh, there's a gun called a Colt 1911. Right. In common with, oooh, most people - I didn't know that.
It has nothing to do with the Colt. It just means, "come in and we will shoot you", as in we police ourselves.

On my house it's alarmed I have paid extra for doors with additional strengthening and I have windows with that film on the inside that isn't easy to get through

Also if they do come in it would be extremely slow going as every interior door has a Chubb lock that's only accessible from one way so if someone come through the patio they wouldn't get through the dining room door same from the kitchen if they got through into the lounge again the door to my stairs is done the same so it would be a lot of hassle! In my bedroom I keep 2 knives and a lump hammer

I will be honest we have had 3 false alarms within 4yrs and I've been terrified every time but I always make sure I'm prepared Christ knows what would happen if I actually unlocked the lounge door and someone was on the other side, I've considered setting up a paintball gun as a remote sentry but apparently leaving traps is a massive no no according to my mate in the police he says whoever broke in would probably sue me

Holy crap. I sometimes don't even lock our house when I leave to go for a run. Quite happy I don't live in the U.K. In a house reading This thread.

I don't think that's typical.

The answer is probably a decent sized explosive packaged within the car. Call it the 'ultimate sacrifice pack' on the options list.

If a scrote nick it, you'll not want it back anyway. So let 'em have it, track it online and when it's in a safe area... arm system, detonate, BOOM!

Should also make sure the dash gives them a 3-2-1 countdown whilst engaging central locking.

One less S3, but one less scrote. Seems fair.
There was rumour of people in South Africa keeping bottles of Whisky and Gin in their cars laced with very unpleasant chemicals such as Antifreeze etc. The thinking being if someone nicked the car they would likely drink the booze and end up either very very ill in hospital or dead.

He was responding to defblade's joke that it should be "we don't call 911, we call 1911".

just keep a chainsaw, boiler suit, hockey mask and theatrical blood to hand, When they come through the door greet them with a chuckle and say 'alright lads, who's first?'

Visited a relative a few weeks ago, it's
a very affluent area. Neighbour had his RS4 Avant stolen with the keys from his driveway. The 'best' part of it the thieves also had access to the keys to his Aston V8 Vantage (also on the drive) - but they left them and the car. CCTV footage shows there were two of them and they both hopped in the Audi.

I'd think it was stolen to order, but I thought it unusual that they didn't even sniff round the Aston. And then, depressingly, thought that they were professional enough to get the job done (obviously not joyriders) and perhaps the Aston would be too noticeable compared to an Audi...

I've got a fiesta st which are notoriously easy and desirable to steal. I've just bought a disklok for to help prevent any theft!

South = bike thefts.
North = invader car thefts.

Bollards outside and multiple locked doors inside are the best bang for your security buck. If they have to break down 2 bollards and 4 doors to get the keys, they will give up.
Surely if they really want the car they'd give your mrs or kids a slap and you'd remove the bollards pretty quickly ?
Note the use of the phrase "multiple locked doors inside"...

Amazed more people don't do that. It really is the key to stopping the scrotes.

Lock the patio door... lock the living room door... lock the hallway door... lock the stair door... lock the bedroom door...

Multi-layer locked-doors, like a castle, is just about the most effective security measure you can take to self-protect.

And just hope you don't need to get out quick in the event of a fire.

If I had to do all that I would move away to somewhere less crime ridden.
