Plot twist. Did the Korma cause the crash??
So the takeaway curry was so hot that the purchaser could not eat it so he threw it in the air where it landed on the windscreen of a passing Porsche, the driver of which immediately thought that he was involved in a terrorist attack and in panic floored the throttle, but blinded by the remains of the curry on his windscreen he hit the next object ahead...……..

Was that the reason cited ? laugh

This thread has turned into a very predictable NPE style car crash (pun intended).

There is as yet no confirmation as to who was driving each car and a lot of intriguing factors surrounding the situation the relevance of which which are as yet unclear.

I’d far rather this thread stayed open so that through reputable sources we could get a clearer picture of what happened as the process of investigation unfolds than see it closed because of handbags in yet another cut and paste “you’re a racist” vs “it’s unfair” free speech argument.

Am I the only one thinking that a Cayman doesn't cost £80k. I guess they must have specced body colour key fob and and leather air vent slats!

Sounds like my sort of wedding (except the crashing). Beats getting drunk, getting off with someone you regret and passing out in your own vomit.

Not to mention "£200k" for a car that's listed for sale at £160k.

Agree the thread needs to stay open and just stick to facts. The driver running and the Ferrari having a well known private plate (currently assigned to a veyron) are fact. The Porsche also has private plates and the driver was injured (if slightly). The fact that the crash occurred in an area dominated by Asian families is known, hence them being stood around taking pics afterward. Who wouldn't, it's not everyday you see/hear a huge smash involving two sports cars. The crash was right on the roundabout it's not in a streetfull of cars or houses. The nearest homes are a hundred yards or so away.
The roundabout is directly off the m1 and full of traffic lights, you'd be pushed to take a loop of it without hitting a set anyway so how they were going quickly is a mystery but it's the first turn off as you exit (at speed) the M1 at Meadowhall so maybe they were flying down and failed to navigate the roundabout.
It's all over Facebook and names and "facts" are being spouted on there but for now let's just see!

The morality mob don't care about article 10.

They will be running to the moderators and banging the 'report' button as if going for the high score on 'Track and Field' long before that.

I've been censored on this site enough times, for posts so innocuous it is almost laughable, to know how it goes.
It's like a kangaroo court.
OK, so I see.... there are generally two types of people, the bigots who hide behind the 'it's PC gone mad' mantra and claim nearly everyone thinks like them, but are too scared to say so and those who for some reason don't like casual racism and the likes. The latter are obviously in a minority according to people like you! FFS, this place gets dafter by the day!

I'm still chuckling at "not left wing enough for NPE".

Anyway, back to the crash. I'm not sure the houses are even 100m away. The pics show everything on the first road off after the SB exit slip, the A6178. That whole eastern side of the r'a'b has houses right on it. It must be a truly awful place to live.

Another supercar dealer (local to the area) has had his name thrown into the mix.

Curiouser and curiouser.

Which would be plausible, however the Sun (I know...) reported that :-

"Can confirm, from Sheffield and they were hire cars at a local wedding in Tinsley, there is footage on social media with these cars in convoy with others"

The reporting was that they were hired for a local wedding, unless this all happened afterwards. There has to be some Tom foolery at play otherwise why leg-it from the accident?
I'm sure that's a lie as it's unlikely there will be a wedding during ramadan as you can't serve food.
I'm also not sure why both drivers would be carrying a set of golf clubs back from a wedding?

If you play a lot of golf then the clubs may live in the car anyway, whether you or anyone else are driving it.

Maybe a race back from the 18th hole. Maybe not.

Straw.

Clutch.

Come on it’s highly unlikely these were rented out for a wedding with golf clubs in the passenger seat.

I've never kept my clubs in any of my supercars.

Can't imagine anyone would.

The crash appears to be on the first turn off, if you came north to meadowhall, not many houses there, however if it's 3/4 round the roundabout then it's on the magna turn off.
Both are almost entirely Asian areas. It's no better or worse than anywhere else near the m1 Meadowhall, it is subject to massive air pollution tho! One of the worst areas in the UK for it.
I very much doubt the hire car theory, and showing off given the location of the crash on the roundabout. You can't generally stand anywhere on it to "spectate" and the homes are all away from the actual crash area which is bang on a busy major roundabout.
"Racing incident" is my bet, possibly one car lost the back end and spun and the other couldn't avoid. Who knows tho.

Definitely the Magna/Rotherham/A6178.

The paper's photo is a bit further back than the Streetview crop, but that makes for easier comparison of the graffiti'd wall and concrete bunker behind the further traffic light, above the hard hat.

Sounds like they were doing community service.

Or is litter picking a new thing for young Asian fellas these days?
