And Auto Express' review has this little passage:

"To recap, the new Evoque sits on a very heavily modified version of its old D8 platform – different enough, it seems, to earn a new name: Premium Transverse Architecture."

Ah yes PTA.

Parents Teachers Association confirms it's definitely a vehicle for the school run.

Surprising then that Toyota are using BMW engines laugh
It could be their downfall. It’s a bad move in the long term.
I assume you will call them and offer your automotive consultancy services and they will pay you handsomely. Hang on, haven't your services been snapped up by JLR following that infamous thread where you devised their long term industrial strategy ?

Yes, because taking one of history's best engine manufacturers is automatically a bad move.
Are you on smack?

BMW's make some of the worst engines to go in a car.
Not their 6 cyl and V8/V10. Won more awards than any other manufacturer for this class of engine.
Even the cooking BMW 3 & 4 cylinder engines are actually best in class in terms of performance, emissions and economy!

In order to be "best in class" they are necessarily more highly strung, and more complex than some other competitor engines and as a result they can suffer from more reliability issues. I say "can" because as a percentage, i'm not sure BMW engines are any worse for reliability than anyone else's, and they tend to be used harder, and owned by people who are much more likely to complain ime.

I never had any engine issues with M3 and 2 x V8s. The electrics were a different matter.

That’s not very nice.

Why would you say such a thing - sure not for my stating what everyone knows and factually things. BMW made the TV show watchdog for faulty engines. It’s a prize in stness.

I really don't see the point of this boorish behaviour. Is this how you speak to those who have different views to your own?
