Good old Bazza…

The lad himself...

Who are "Bazza" and "The Lad himself"?

I'm amazed no-one's posted former footballer Steven Ireland and his Range-Rover Sport. Pictured here en-route to his grandma's funeral.......

Barry Sheen and Tony Hancock (he was often introduced on stage or on TV s 'the lad himself' for some reason).

Keith's first Bentley 'The Blue Lena' which he bought new in 1966, if only it could talk...

Recently restored and sold for £760k...It was originally ordered by a Mr. Mason, who cancelled the order after it turned up at H R Owen in Mayfair, which is where Keith bought it from. He kept it 'til 1978, by which time it had been battered and repaired fairly often (wonder why? biggrin) but replaced it with another example of the same model.

On a different note, Byrds singer Gene Clark owned a Ferrari 250 Europa GT, which was incredibly rare even when it was new; does anyone know where it went?
Great story about Keiths Bentley. His bodyguard/minder collected it from the dealers and drove it to France, where upon Keith took over, from there they went to Africa for a few months in it. (Might not be exact, but pretty close, his was a great book).
Sounds like Tom Keylock, long time minder / chauffeur / tour manager / general dogsbody - Keith bought the car new in '66 but I suspect the story you're talking about is the tale of their mad dash to Morroco just after Keith's country pile in West Wittering was raided by the old bill in February '67. Keylock drove the Bentley down to Morroco with Keith, Brian Jones and his bird Anita Pallenberg cavorting in the back while Jagger, Marianne Faithful and various others flew down to meet team there. Lots of too-ing and fro-ing occurred on the trip with Brian going into hospital and the others eventually left him behind in the hotel in Morroco with no money, scarpering back to blighty in the Bentley. He made his way back to London eventually to find Keith had 'rescued' Anita from his clutches. All's fair in rock 'n' roll! Simon Wells' book 'Butterfly On A Wheel - The Great Rolling Stones Drug Bust' goes into great detail about the whole saga, it's well worth a read if you like the Stones or '60s stuff in general.

Noel Edmunds has/had a Routemaster, he claims he bought it so he could use the bus lanes in Bristol while filming "Deal or No Deal". Prior to that he had a London Cab, with mannequin, to get round London in.

I think the majority of those programmes are story boarded in an attempt to make the programmes more interesting, to get an 'angle' or viewable and to pad out the scheduled TV slot and total series times.

Regarding Jay Kay of Jamiroquai I didn't know he was into Quattros. Top man. Cosmic Girl is one of my favourite videos due to the car noises. And pretty skies:

Wasn't the lilac Lamborghini written off by a mate of his and the subsequent wreck was on display above the entrance of a scrapyard?

Long Good Friday one of my favourite films but I don't remember a MK2 Jag in it. XJ6 Series 2 perhaps......?
If I'm wrong I'll just have to watch it again!

Possibly urban myth. Here is the car supposedly written off in 2011 by 'a friend'

Or previously on a car rally in 2006 (again supposedly):

In 2017 it looked it rude health like this and was up for sale for £550k:

Not bad for a right-off........

Someone needs to post Peter Sellers and Brits wedding day. I'm sure they had a blue DB5 convertible as their wedding car.

I didn't realise his collection was up to 41. Good going.

The TV programme made him come across as super-paranoid about the car involved (which is perhaps understandable as it was about £300k-worth)

However, his autobiography did make him seem like a complete tool. Cringe-worthy stuff.
