Whilst acknowledging you are entitled to your opinion the fact you are using the i pace as a yardstick to measure EVs by is…. Interesting.
I wouldn’t consider this to be a good design.

It’s only been around a couple of years, but looks like a 1990s concept car.
It isn’t tasteless though so a bit off topic.
as we know looks are subjective. I think that's quite a handsome car, but then again I like 90s concept cars. Some of the modern BMW however, are horrific (IMO) and definitely tick the vulgar box, as many on here agree.I wouldn’t consider this to be a good design.

I really appreciate older cars, but for new stuff I like the design to push things forward a bit.
I remember when Audi went to the large front grille and hating it at the time. Time has proved me wrong as it also has with cars like the Fiat coupe and BMW 5 series (most Bangle cars in fact)

It is a good design. It makes the iX look like the graceless lump that it is. Design isn’t fashion.Good design appeals to the sort of people who like what's best whereas fads and fashions appeal to the sort of people who must have what's new.
The two rarely have much in common because good design stands the test of time whereas today's fashion is no more than tomorrow's landfill.

I would assume that anyone buying that monstrosity, is not someone who appreciates fine art and visits galleries on a regular basis.I don't see what correlation there could possibly be between buying a X6 and and liking fine art or galleries.
Or are simply saying they you don't like the way the X6 looks?

Catching up on this thread it appears many understand a different definition of tasteless than me. Guess taste is lot more subjective than I realised.
I think this is also the 'wish I had done better in life and now I'm just bitter' thread.![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)

Its cab forward because its an EV and you can free up interior space, it still is recognisably a Jag and it conforms to the constraints of the safety regs with its low but rising bonnet line etc. Its in stark contrast to a Tesla or some of the other abominations that are around.
You dont have to like something to appreciate its a good design.

Bit broadstrokes surely?
Yeahbutt I'm very much sitting in the what's best rather than the what's new chair myself, so I like established themes and broardstrokes and general design rules and the more subtle and discrete aspects of it that have been tested by time and not been found wanting though. You always know what you're getting and where you are with those and they're the only ones you can rely on to work every time and carry on doing so. As an added bonus you're neatly avoiding ever getting stuck on the relentless hamster wheel of mindlessly following the latest fads and fashion too.

Cor! That looks brilliant. It’s hardly tasteless, just Uber-futuristic. I think - to me at any rate - “tasteless” in cars has a sort of crossover with vulgar, it’s a blingy statement of wealth. An Aygo X is hardly that.
Anyway - it looks awesome and I want one. How have Toyota come up with that and BMW cocked it up so badly?

Design never peaks, art never peaks, it all jist evolves and people buy into it or not. The irony of you mentioning becoming stuck in a hamster wheel of following fashion whilst discussing an electric suv is not, however, lost on me!
