A Cv boot clip a bulb a bit of brake line and a tracked end would have got a test on that.
if it were mine I'd have done it and maybe later(summer) worked on some of those advises.
I certainly considered it. But with 4 tyres needed, that was going to be (at an absolute minimum) £100. Plus all the rest of the bits/labour, on a car I paid £350 (well £325, because I sold the roof racks it came with for £20).

So to get £200 scrap was an almost no brainer. £125 to run a car for 10 months and drive to Munich and back, thats a loss I dont mind one bit!

I originally worked on the basis of having two sheds (and no pesky moderns), one a commutawagon, the other a long distance barge.

I now seem to have acquired a collection of six sheds, five of which are Rovers (R8 214, R8 420, a 620, an 820, a Streetwise), and one a lonesome Honda Accord Coupe cos rare. And leggy. Very very leggy. 183K leggy.

In fact, if I were to buy a Rover 100 (Metro) I'll successfully have completed a mid 1990s Rover range clean sweep.

I thoroughly recommend having a back up shed. Or five.
hehe Top shedding. I'd love to see a picture of all those together on your drive (or in your shed?)

I've decided I want a new one as I'm just not comfortable in my saab which is a shame as finding a car like that with the history will be next to impossible again.

What's good for..
Saloon or bigger
Auto
Good on fuel
Reliable
Heated leather
Xenons (I really miss having lights that aren't like holding a candle infront of your car)

I assume I'd be mad to consider this?
I just found a great car on Auto Trader.

Good on fuel for the size of the engine. (does that sound better?)

Is that a good idea? Absolutely not.

Should you do it? Absolutely.

If you've got the cojones and don't rely on the car every single day without fail, I can't see why you should. Although, if you've not seen it, Car Throttle on YouTube recently bought one for a £1000 luxury car challenge, go watch that and the follow up video at the garage when it gets inspected. That might help make your decision one way or the other.

Oh I've seen the video. Mega spec lol.

I know it's a stupid thing to do but it actually looks pretty decent and there aren't many around that sort of money.

Does it have that fancy pump up and down suspension? That will probably be on its way out hehe

I assume so. The drivers side rear seems to be lower than the passenger side.

So you might remember from a few days ago I had the permanently locked driver's door? I agreed to sell it to someone for £350, found an Accord 2.4 estate (manual too!) To buy, all to be done on Saturday.

Went to drive to my OHs house, and it randomly unlocked! Looks like I'm keeping it!
If you're not buying the Accord, would you mind sharing the link? Other sheddists may be interested!
Yup we are ! - before I bought my Focus, I was looking at 2.4 Accords myself and missed out on what looked like a very straight and cheap example of a Type S saloon in Farnborough which went for £1300. Compared to the prices being paid for the older Type R Accord I think that's good value!

Today is the day when I miss the heated front screen that my old Focus ST had grumpy. Actually had to go and dig out my scraper as the ice was welded on so hard. Surprisingly I'm not missing the heated seats much. Kinda refreshing to not have the gongs going off and lights flashing up telling me that death is imminent because the temperature is below 3 degrees too smile.

I have my eye on a V70 derv to replace our aging passat which although in generally good nick has developed a crunchy third gear.

What is putting me off is the thought of being stuck with the passat over xmas and new year as it's a bad time to sell.

My MK1 did the same, piss easy to fix, hardest part is getting the wiper arms off so you can remove the cowl.

The cable goes brittle under there, just cut out the bad bit, crimp in a bit of new, tape it up and off you go.

Well. I never imagined I'd ever actually buy a shed as I've always been a snob and liked to have newish things. My first car was a brand new Citigo on finance!

After the nightmare of worrying about all the little chips and damage etc on the return, I managed to sell it just before the finance ended in November and made £250 profit after settling, which was lucky for me.

Figured I'd have a look see for some sheds and find out what's so good about shedding. Almost as if by magic, my sister stumbled across someone who was getting rid of their Kia Picanto 1 (yes, bargain basement spec), and they needed it gone by yesterday due to moving to Australia! Because it had 120k miles on it and extremely tatty bodywork, WBAC offered £350 for it, online... Not in person. Meaning that £350 would probably get knocked down even more!

Checked the MOT history, and it is immaculate except for one fail due to tyres being worn below legal limit, way back in 2015 or something. Found out it had a new clutch 6 months ago, and new winter tyres put on 3 months ago. It needs a new MOT in January but having started it up and looked around it I see no reason it'd fail, mechanically it seems spot on.

So I offered the princely sum of £350 for it, no hidden fees (unlike WBAC hehe ), and my hand was twisted off, and I am now the proud owner of this tatty old Shed. Complete with pentagram symbols! hehe

A proper girl's car ^ ! You probably look about as daft in that as I do in my C1 smile .

Not sure those decals would be staying if it were mine, given their similarities to another well known symbol.

Using my shed for a few months now, all good but the other day I was in traffic and thought about safety. I carry my 4 year old son in the car and made me think that a more modern car would be safer on a collision. Made me reconsider the shed life a little. Have you guys thought/worry about that? My shed is a 16 year old Honda Civic perhaps not the safest shed out there...
