Chinese now, but aren’t they the legacy of what was LDV Vans? I think you can trace them back to the Leyland Sherpa.

I had a look at one of these at the CV Show last year, it’s solid live axle with the motor mount to it directly on the diff.

They bought LDV, I don't think any of their current line up I'd related to the Sherpa though.

Bending the rules a bit as it's a concept prototype not a production car. MG DR2, built in 1989 as an American market car, the donor car for the prototype is a TVR Tasmin 350i, it has a 3.5 litre Rover V8

Also known as PR5 (the MGF was PR2). Built as an alternate design study for PR4 which is what eventually became the MG RV8 (which was a lot, lot cheaper as all the bits more or less existed).

Although the work and attention to detail is decent. It doesn’t look particularly good, and I love a good shooting brake.

Adore these, one wad on the 'when I'm a bit older list but at a rather portly 6ft I might struggle. Never seen one in the flesh but I've always been a huge fan of Japanese kei car stuff. Cracking things

Maxus are one of SAIC's brands, MG are another. They also have the Mifa 9 EV, a full size MPV which is about to go on sale. No current Maxus has any Sherpa DNA

Seen loads of their vans around, have a feeling they are going to become a very familiar sight. As with MG they massively undercust their rivals and offer some very tempting deals and incentives. Can see the MPV becoming a popular taxi and might pick up some company car sales.

I think the LDV link was long gone as the previous gen Maxus were rehashed Daewoo vans after they went bust.

It was tiny compared to the other cars, shame it doesn't have a bit more HP though!

Standard Kei car 660cc engine and 63bhp. They can be tuned up. The one in this JayEmm video is a 'safe 100bhp'
