I'm yet to see a Beetle RSi on the road.
Lady down the road from me used to have one. For a beetle it has a lot of presence.
When is it going to open them?

Defo has to be the 145 for me, had two, a 1.8TS and a Cloverleaf, they really are loads of fun to chuck about with their super quick steering and fantastic engines. Even now when I see one, I still think they look effortlessly cool.

It seems that my RSi is a bit of a Marmite car - people either love it, or hate it.

Luckily I'm in the former category!

How many came to the UK? they very rarely come up for sale so i am guessing they are as rare as hens teeth.

My guess is 4 or 5 - I think the press car was the only UK purchased car, the others I believe were imported from Germany (mine included).

They do come up for sale occasionally, including a twin turbo'd version which was priced at £40k last time I saw it for sale.

I'm in the latter, nothing to do with RSi just the whole beetle thing.

The original was hateful and the new one hideous. Mini all the way for me (old and new)

First modern Beetle I've seen with a man behind the wheel. Not sure that will catch on?

It's probably already been mentioned;

VW Lupo GTI

And a bit of a luke warm hatch this, but very 'hoon-able' around town;

Ford SportKa

Actually these two may be a little small for proper 'hatch' status. Although they're still hatchbacks ... yum

I am not a fan of the KA but i understand it is quite a fun car, the Lupo on the other hand, in GTI form looks brill, especially in black.

That BX is very quirky and has some damn impressive performance figures for it's time.

Beetle RSi probably the best of the bunch, for me anyway!

Only with solid discs though, where as the MG and MG Turbo Metro's are blessed with vented discs. smile
