When I was looking for a weekend play thing ( around £8K) I did try S2000's, Lotus, Vx220, and Boxter, but didn't bother with the Mx5 as was underwhelmed after being a passenger in one. At 6'5 tall, any small roadster is going to be a snug fit for me, but of those I tried, the Z3m felt the most raw/special to drive and was the least cramped. Each to there own on what does or doesn't work for them.diamondjo said:

I'm 5'5 and sort of athletic so the car fits me quite well, i can see how being 6ft etc it could be a problem.
She's a 2.2. M sport 2002, probably keep her another year and then see whats about![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
Love the colour, nice wheels, one of the better looking combo's. Thanks for sharing.![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

What a piece of s
t. It's got semi-trailing rear suspension which means it must be completely crap to drive.
Like an E30 BMW you mean? ;-)![](/inc/images/censored.gif)

That 'gearstick failing to centre itself' is a common E36/E46/Z3/Z4 problem, and is a gearbox out job to repair; definitely not just a case of renewing bushes. The bushes will remove slack from the gearchange, but won't cure that non-centering issue.
My Z3 needed a new gearbox for that very issue.JayMan said:
