I like the discovery if I’m honest
Yep, me too.
It's grown on me too but it seems very colour/spec dependant. There was one in JLR SVO in full mountain rescue trim the other month and it looked epic.

I think we'll all get over it. All of them apart from the last generation have been pretty hideous things anyway.
That last generation is starting to look better all the time IMHO. Shame they weigh as much as a planet.

Its growing on me all the time.
I didn't like the previous shape at first but now love it.
Intend to replace my Disco 4 when funds permit.

Omg, I just signed up to say that I too think its Fugly!
I also wrote LR a complaint letter telling them just that. They replied stating that they are sorry that I dont like it and that they will pass on my complaint to the enginwrring team. I know no one will ever read my complaint.....

I refuse to settle. How is this even close to an LR4 replacement!!! Ugly, ugly, ugly! If you guys want this pos get it but bring back the LR4.
I will switch to bmw x5 untill they bring back LR4!

Imagine they did this to the range rover! Itll be over for land rover all together! Fortunatelly they did the right thing!

The new Land Cruiser is a better looking car than this, which is saying something.

Hardly conclusive that the design team at JLR were wrong but I found it amusing...

My youngest son (4) was in the car with me yesterday and we were at traffic lights behind a new Discovery.

He pipes up saying 'that car looks funny, the yellow badge (numberplate) isn't in the middle. Has it been crashed'?

Excuse me if this is old news and appears earlier in this thread but surely this £750 add on from Startech is going to sell like hot cakes...

The more I see of them, the less I find it an issue. I don't think the Discovery is supposed to be too elegant anyway.
Anyone shelling out hard-earned will have taken the looks onboard.
Perhaps when secondhand ones become common it might be a 'thing' but again, I think people will already have dealt with that before looking at s/h Discos.

Yes great family transport big step up from the disco 4 (aside from the rear)

The hse is range rover like refinement with the space of a discovery and it drives way better than disco 4 as its a fairly ridiculous 500kg lighter

Why didn’t they just fit a square plate, would have looked fine!

Interestingly the Discovery sport has a central plate at the rear. Miles better in my view.

Overall it's a bloody nice vehicle

I would suggest they know exactly what they are doing.
