I like it. Don't think most of the pics released so far do it justice - watching the reveal video streamed live by a guy who got onto the stand it's a lot longer, lower and curvier than the official pics suggest. I think in 'real life' it'll look stunning.
From 11 mins in on this vid. Crap quality but gives a better idea of the true shape than all the official pics put together :

Mid engined, V8, ground effect. And a kill switch, whatever that is. Le Mans for the road.
Mental power, mental noise, TVR is back smile

The exterior pics are not immediately stunning, so the car isnt as photogenic as the Wheeler ones. But it may well look a lot more dynamic in the flesh, like the GTR and other modern cars where theres a lot more going on in between the 'planes'.IYKWIM.

The interior is definitely less inviting than it should be as far as TVRs of old. They were all different levels of design-plinth-level awesome, disguising the sparseness in a cocoon of swoops and curves and tactile plushness. This one is competent but at worst seems like a faithless Mondial replica or a pampered Ultima! Boo.

The worst thing about the launch has been the negativity on here. Entirely predictable sadly.
And this is why I read very few new car reviews on PH these day, I can't help reading the comments and it always annoys me when I see the same old complaints; too heavy, too big, too turbocharged, too much tech, too fast, too ugly etc.
Maybe it's time that PH drew a line in the sands of time, maybe 1998? And completely forgets that motor vehicles were produced after this....
I think this might be a classic car website nowadays.

Resurrect a great British brand with an exciting 500bhp sports car = 5+ pages of hatred.
Somebody finds a tired, unreliable, money pit of a £1,000 Alfa on Autotrader = everyone loses their minds with envy.

????????

PH - hating new stuff matters.
I am afraid I have to completely disagree

I happened to pick your post to reply to, but this is really directed more generally at all whose complaining about the negativity on here rather than you specifically

I was desperate to like this car and yes, the underpinnings by & large suggest it could well be great to drive which of course is vitally important and nobody on here has yet sampled that experience

But the fact also remains that buying a £100k sports car for most people requires you to love the looks and this simply isn't doing it for me. It isn't doing it for a lot of others too. Speaking personally, this has nothing to do with my expectations, or comparisons to other TVRs of the past. As a standalone exercise it's too generic, with very few features, lines or shapes that draw me in. If it had a different badge and a £25k price tag, it wouldn't have surprised me. I like a couple of features, such as the side exiting exhausts, but overall, too bland, too meh, no excitement......

I think it's also more than reasonable for the many people to have pointed out that for such a long drawn out launch, the photography is f****g horrific. Very strange approach - how can they not have realised before today and done something about it. So much is riding on this grand reintroduction and they aren't even giving it a fighting chance by releasing such awful photos

For those saying it's unfair to pick up on the photography, I think it's missing the point - a lot of people are passionate about the brand, desperate for it to succeed and are commenting not because they are wanting to find fault, but because they are frustrated this could limit the chances of the enterprise being a success

I think the overall styling looks good.

Details like wheels and air vents are quite likely to change.

Front end styling looks happy (grille) and sad (lights) all at the same time - bit incoherent. Still, after the new BMW X7 concept images this is almost like gazing upon the Mona Lisa. Cant get over how bad that thing looks.

Wow.. so many negative responses from a scan of posts so far.

Personally I think it looks fantastic and very credible.

I hope it drives well and stands up to the competition.

Great to have the TVR name back and excited if the Le Mans project also goes ahead as previously mentioned.

I look forward to the first drives and fair play to those with the cash who buy into the brand straight away.

I quite like that.

Am I the only one seeing a lot of ND MX-5 in the front end? (Not a bad thing, just the very first thought that popped into my head.)
I was thinking Jensen SV8 at the front....Maserati 3200 at the rear (of course), and the front 3/4 seems to have some Mazda RX8 style proportions.

I'm sure it will be awesome, but its not as cohesive in appearance as I'd hoped.

From these pictures, I personally think it looks awful and will bring the beginning of the end for TVR. It does look dated and the wheels just don't seem to sit right in the arches. The back end does look better than the front; I'ts got a hint of Toyota FT1 in it.

I quite like it apart from the headlights/vents.

I really hope they make a success of it! It's great to see TVR back and it's good news for Britain to be building cars.

Agree fully with your post. Although some people on here are negative I think most PHers want TVR to succeed and were looking forward to the launch. Personally the looks do nothing for me. It may be great to drive but that is not enough. It has to look wonderful too. Very disappointing that it doesn't look as nice as the old Griffith.

I think it is worrying that the launch is so bad. If they can't get that right how will they cope with customer service?

Yep agree with everything said so far. Those first pictures are some of worst I have ever seen. Terrible angles and way too much light reflections...

Have just found another video on you tube though and it looks much better there. They also show what looks like full size model in silver which looks great.

Needs to be seen in person..

Nice one thanks those pics are much better.
I like it apart from the price point, heres hoping they do a lesser model/trim at a lower entry point.
