So tomorrow £600 182 goes in for a re-mot after failing the emissions big style.

The garage has a big box of parts to play with , o2 sensor , new plugs, ht leads and coil packs , injectors and fuel rail so fingers crossed .

Meanwhile the £500 puma has carried on doing the daily duties with no fuss .
Mot denied frown

Emissions still to high so going to splash out £120 on a new cat converter and if that doesn't do the job , i'm out.

See what happens next week with the new cat .

I've got storage on a farm so no mega rush to get it moved , it'll just be a bit of a bummer I could of stuck the same money into the puma .

The puma is never going to be as quick though as the 182 although people who track them say they make ground in the corners even compared to the clios .

So tomorrow is d day for the sheddy 182 .

To date it's failed emissions twice , has had new 02 sensor, plugs , injector ,coils and the induction kit returned to stock .

Tomorrow it get a new cat converter and we try again !

If it fails , it goes and i sulk thinking about what i could of done with my puma with all the money i've chucked at the clio.

( actually i've only spent £286 on parts so far , so wouldn't get me coilovers for the puma but would of re done the brakes or new tyres all round)

Where did you get the cat from? Is it OEM?

My only experience with an aftermarket cat is that it failed weeks after I started using it. And so did the warranty replacement. The only thing that fixed it was a used OEM one.

The original cat was fine but the pipes around it were rotten and not really weld-able

Pick it up tomorrow needed something done to the headlight washer as only 1 was working .

Today it got a new cat and another o2 sensor ( so both have been replaced ) and it just scraped thru the emissions !

Has had both o2 sensors , cat , plugs, coils , injectors have been replaced they seem to think it's been remapped and it's messed up the air/fuel ratios , still i guess it has 12 months mot and that's sorted until next may.

Well done for finally getting through the MOT.
Has the airflow sensor been tested/checked ?

Not sure , there can't be much i haven't replaced wink

the guy in the garage asked if i had any history for the car ( which i don't ) as he said for a stock 182 it's very quick so possibly been remapped .

Rusty sills.

But ensure you have deep pockets because no doubt it will reward you by failing to proceed ten seconds after buying it.

I loved my X-Type until the engine broke.

Quick. Comfortable. Thirsty. Great noise from the exhausts.

I had an auto which went like st off a shovel so I would imagine that the manual is even better.

Sadly SWMBO says I can’t have another one which is annoying as this one looks good.

Only thing is the lack of an MOT.

Wonder if he will do a swap for my E46???

£325 of half-prepped rally car. Should make a good replacement for the £200 micra rally snotter.

Brings my total number of cars currently owned to 7, costing a grand total of £3000.. silly

Also, the £550 accord tourer diesel I bought two weeks ago is doing me proud for now, 51mpg average over 300 miles, not too shabby.

I have my own mechanic who would gets those parts fitted for not much. With only around 3K miles done in 12 months it should get through the mot so I wonder why the owner hasn’t done that.

My own E46 is up for sale - being mot’d in the morning - so even if it fails I will know that it will cost to get sorted.

Saying that I would be tempted at around £400.00.
