The Joy of Running an Old Shed (Vol 2)
Discussion
Spoke to a couple of people today who were diesel pump experts and it's had them confused also. Just can't work out why its happened.
Whilst walking through town popped into this local garage who is recommended around here, told him what was happening and after going through all the scenarios suggested something which is plausible and costs nothing.
Suggested that whilst this fuel 'crisis' was on fuel station tanks were getting incredibly low/empty and maybe picked up some crappy diesel. Might see a bit far fetched as I'm sure it would be filtered coming out as well as going in but worth refilling from a busy station and doing another test later.

Just had 'diesel' in my old fashioned Saab 2.2. the one that has no possible method of getting oil in the fuel. In fact, I'm pretty sure is bacterial growth in the fuel tank. The bugs grow on the interface between water and fuel. You get water in there through long term condensation and the like, and off they go. I could have sworn there was oil in the diesel. I've pulled the tank of my Saab, and cleaned it up, and now it's out being test driven, so fingers crossed. When the dodgy Bradford trader said it had been valeted, I just laughed at him. Here is why:
The ML also has that weird stty foil stuck to the air vents, the adhesive is absolutely awful to get off even with a strong adhesive remover. Dirty interior doesn't matter to me as I'll be deep cleaning it regardless. I don't care about the exterior, I don't care if I get it dirty but I will not drive around in someone else's filth. Not that I can because the battery is currently dead

Wow, I wouldn't be able to drive that, I would have to take all the seats out and carpet shampoo everything to an inch of it's life. Then it would be a full service, all new wiper blades and then I would be constantly on eBay looking to replace all the damaged and missing bits of interior trim, plus a genuine set of mats. The ML also has that weird stty foil stuck to the air vents, the adhesive is absolutely awful to get off even with a strong adhesive remover. That is pretty much my routine when I get a new shed.
Those seats are also why I will never get a car with Alcantara seats again as the ones in my old audi A4 wore in the same way. Cloth for the win.

Any thoughts on a 2006 vintage 320i SE for about £700? Neighbour selling his, MOT until July with a pretty clean history with 118k on the clock. Slight parking ding on passenger door and wing.
I would personally rip his arm off. How bad is the ding, are we talking door ding or kicked in by a drunk yobo?Joey Deacon said:

Another year of shedding coming up. A few minor things to do with it:
New front discs and pads
Rear axle bushes (not picked up by this tester but have been noted previously)
Rear hatch struts
Offside ARB ball joint (but even the tester said it was barely noticeable - I’ve not detected anything yet)
His words were also “It’s a good car.” I felt like a proud dad..!

been getting some knocking from the front of my shed...
..
stuck it up on the lift last night.... Front knuckle arms and ball joint loose on both sides... £75 plus VAt each.. not too bad.
checked the whole underneath... not a speck of corrosion or rust.. not bad for a 25 year old motor!
On the other hand the rear shocks are slowly reaching the end of their life..... £229 each plus VAT..

It's an E90.
Have you got it yet? If you don't buy it some local small car dealer will buy it and have it advertised for £2499.Had a chat with my go to mechanic who told me to check the coolant is good as signs of excess water can be a sign of issues and to check the engine runs smoothly on start up. Otherwise just the usual.

I bought it! I've only sat in it for a few mins so will have to take a proper look at the weekend in daylight to see what I've actually bought
