Best smoker barges 1-5 large [Vol 20]
Discussion
I think this is rather nice...and possibly within a haggle of the top of thread. 135k miles and £5750
2004 CLK55 with the 5.4 V8. So it should be quick enough for most occasions....

.What colour is this, some sort of purple or blue?

For anyone interested, I took the FFRR (christened 'Grayson' by my family, who enjoy naming cars, but not motorbikes) for a round trip to Wiltshire, inspired by our very own Aaaarrrronetwonine*. I asked my daughter and son what they'd like to do and one asked for a zoo and the other to see Stonehenge (again) but in the rain (he thought the bluestone changes colour).
An overnight stay in Frome, having visited Stonehenge and the Roman Baths yesterday, followed by a visit to Longleat Safari Park today.
The L322 is a hoot for the safari and the ability to raise the suspension is comical, easily placing us as high as a Caravelle and enabling us to loom over the other vehicles to gain a vantage point for the various dejected and inert big cats on show. The macaques were fun though.
Yes I stopped in the disabled spot for a moment. No, I'm not sorry.
and here I am, captured in a moment of reflection on what I imagine my L322 entitles me to as a captain of industry steeped in old money.
The L322 is great fun on the road and obviously handles like the bargeiest of barges, but who doesn't love the hot rod type enjoyment from a kickdown and V8 Gainsbourg forwards. I'd love to see how it feels with 20" alloys and summer tyres.
It's also rather shabby and pleasant -- not as buttoned-up as the S211, for sure. The stereo is good and the light interior, Parchment White, is very relaxing and aids a sense of spaciousness. Nice and supple leather top and the dash is leather also -- a fetching navy colour.

- *what do I find to be a good prevention from mental health struggles? Seeking inspiration from other PHers that enjoy a similar hobby to oneself, namely, hitting the road at speed and in search of an adventure. For that alone, I have PH and my fellow bargeistes to thank. Oh, and also for the link and due diligence on 'Grayson', which unintentionally assisted me in taking the plunge to purchase without having intended to procure a new addition to the fleet!
I like how you blame the family for the car name BM
Anyway, Friday in CET, so here's a new form of Gerharding. £9k allegedly dropped with Carlsson (sp?) on this E500 coupe. I can't see how you can tune an NA lump much (unless it's lik unleashing Alec on it and there's a massive turbo?), or why a front bumper and stick on spoiler is nine big ones. But the Vauxhall-esque prancing horse accompanying the front end is truly something to, err, note.

I like this a lot more than I ought to…. Great spec inside. Would definitely change the grille badge back to standard and in doing so that could make a very nice q-car, especially if there’s been some performance enhancements too.Anyway, Friday in CET, so here's a new form of Gerharding. £9k allegedly dropped with Carlsson (sp?) on this E500 coupe. Another Mondeo! ST 3.0 estate this time, purely for the redness of the leather, and line "you'll become best friends with your local petrol station attendant". £3100. Too low brow for thread I'm sure.

How much do we think this is going to go for? Perhaps answer in multiples of £1,200. The dealer seller is asking £16,995 elsewhere which seems a tad optimistic but my-oh-my what a beautiful car. I really fancy it. Incredibly rare "SEC-style" seating, a £1,987.76 option back in the day. Bagsy first dibs.

Phwoar. Big fan.https://www.finecarcompany.com/lot/details/56321
I wonder if these will end up as expensive as older Merc barges? Or will they be outlawed by that point?
But not at 20 grand f f s.
I’ll take the 1 and a half bag 3litre Mondeo, please.
Further to the Bornite 300E from the last volume, you could have a newer E320 S124 needing a bit of TLC for 3/4 thread, also in Bornite. Ad looks honest enough - seller knows what he's talking about and gets extra points in my book for not using the phrase "last of the proper Mercs" or "built by engineers not accountants" or other such twaddle. Sportline chassis too.
