Checked out the website of my local Mitsubishi dealer who only now service them, no new cars for sale and they now sell Ssangyong and XBUS.

I thought WTF is XBUS?

I would have thought they would have still had a market with the “tarmac salespeople”, roid raged builder and other unsavoury characters with the L200, which with the Nissan Navara served those specimen nicely.

Meanwhile the people with more than one brain cell would have bought a Hilux, Ranger or an Amarok, which have always been much better commercial vehicles.

I remember the Outlander PHEV was at one point the darling of the company car buyer thanks to its low price and decent range. It’s a shame Mitsubishi didn’t jump on to the EV 4x4 bandwagon, they would have sold stloads to fleet and private buyers as the Outlander was always a very practical and affordable 4x4, much more capable for a family than the Korean EV offerings (which are probably better cars)

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

The L200 was always the better commercial vehicle as is the only one that could run full time in 4wd on tarmac, not be subject to van speed limits and pull 3.5 tonnes (not necessarily at the same time).

But don't let the stereotype hit you on the way out!

I'd heard of the Mitsuoka, namely the Micra based one and the Orochi supercar, but this is a new one on me; the Ryoga, I assume from it's size it's based on the Primera, rear end is a particualy ugly highlight.

Difficult to gauge the size, but it has an xc40 feel too it. Curious for a company that own Volvo...

Looks to me to very much based on an original Jaguar S-type

My xc40 is the same length as a focus hatch, and also has a 3cyl turbo (plus battery). How odd.

Not quite a volvo interior....

But...it's well specced, seemingly well put together, has a great warranty and was under £18k brand new.

A quick bit of google-fu suggests it's known as the Binyu elsewhere. It's a similar size to the xc40, albeit on a different chassis, and the 1.5L 3cyl engine is the same unit used in the Volvo.

Curious decision. Perhaps a bit Renault/Dacia?
