I'm sure they do but do they incorporate a lock? I can imagine a situation where you fall against the car and send it crashing into a wall/another car otherwise!
No, no lock. And even though they make the car easy to move, you still need a fair push to move a 1 ton car around.

I got mine from Screwfix about 8 years ago, £40 a pair.

I've just begun to make a start on mine. I'm a bit skint after buying the house though frown
I'm hoping to build a workbench in the next week or two.

Hard to tell from the pics but that looks like asbestos sheeting on the walls.

Whatever you do dont drill it or try to put up shelves on it.

Probably best to get some specialist advice before doing anything to the garage.

Just pre-formed concrete panels aren't they?

6 months of working at weekends and nights after work on it and my dream garage is finally finished……..not to everyone’s taste, but I love it. It’s a great place to work or just sit and chill with my toys.

No images of the whole garage yet, as I've only just moved in. I did manage to sort out the car cleaning shelf last night though! It's my first garage (and house as we've previously rented) and I'm very proud of it!

Now I have a garage I can lay out all my car cleaning products. Didn't realise I had so many duplicates!!!

The BMW has now been sold to pay for the new house BTW frown

It’s accumulation of products over many years! I previously just had the cupboard under the stairs in the old house so bottles just got lost at the back and I bought more thinking I didn’t have any! Probably quite a lot of money there! I even bought the cabriolet roof cleaning kit and then sold the BMW! Doh! I will get some photos of the garage this weekend as it’s looking quite good in there now.

I do have one question though. I have quite a big fishing kayak, 4.1 metres and I don’t know what to do with it. The ceiling is plasterboarded, but it has a hatch so I can see where the joists are to screw hooks for hanging things from, but because the door slides up and over into the garage, the kayak won’t fit. I’m thinking of hanging it from the wall, so does anyone know of any good wall mounted brackets for such a job?

I've got a nomination....never seen the place but I hear he's on pistonheads and near me in northern ireland. He bought a car off me about 2 years ago and photos of his garage have popped up on a local forum. Properly amazing collection.

I suspect that is more of a museum than a garage which would be a shame, would be happy to be proved wrong

I like that, but can I ask why only half of the garage appears to be floor tiled?

Yeah, it's really good actually. Don't use it that often, but when I have I've been pleased. Streak free finish and no effort at all. No substitute for carnauba wax, but good for a quick clean. Smells lovely too!

There are some photos of other cars in the collection later in the thread, they are very definitely being used. The McRae Impreza doesn't look much used mind!
