Car trends that you hope die

Wow. Even the logo implies terrible driving. The wheels aren't round, and they're leaning forward so she must be going REALLY FAST possibly over 20mph. And there are 'shake' lines behind so she's probably hooning down an unsealed country road. And the children in the back are running riot and causing a dangerous distraction. Someone should go on there and put them to rights.... Disgraceful.

Diamond cut alloys.
They look great in the showroom I'll admit, but after a few months in the real world after Mr and Mrs Financed-Whitegood have smacked them against a few curbs/kerbs/delete as appropriate, slammed through a few potholes and never bothered to wash them, the lacquer fails on the diamond cut face and begins to corrode the metal underneath. Then once they require a new car to keep up with Mr and Mrs Jones, their old car gets dumped on the used market and I'll come along and have to spend several hundred on getting them powder coated so they look a) new again and b) last longer than a diamond cut wheel.
Don't know what a diamond cut wheel is, but assuming the Nissan Cumquat wheels in Fek-na spec are? You know, the ones that like a fat black dildo was melted inside a lava pit then spread across some Reva reject alloys? They look great in the showroom I'll admit, but after a few months in the real world after Mr and Mrs Financed-Whitegood have smacked them against a few curbs/kerbs/delete as appropriate, slammed through a few potholes and never bothered to wash them, the lacquer fails on the diamond cut face and begins to corrode the metal underneath. 4 cylinder 2 litre turbo diesel rep-mobiles masquerading as prestige cars. I recognise I will be in the minority on this.
I don't think many owners are bothered. More the people driving around in 'classics' who need to endlessly point out that they are not luddites Edited by anonymous-user on Thursday 31st March 14:17

On the other hand I know a guy who at the time had an Impreza and when I noticed the sticker on it I started talking to him about going. He didnt even know what the sticker was for or what the Nurburgring was and had just put it on as he had seen others with it. This was about 11 years ago before the Ring was mega popular though.

This and your previous post, couldn't have put it better. It's a sad British attitude that makes people more likely to be critical than complementary.
I Started a new temp job a few weeks back, upon arrival on site driving a 1997 5 series BMW I parked up alongside about twenty mostly Corsas/Clios/Fiestas/Civics/A3s all less than 5 years old. Several people have now commented that they are surprised "a temp" can afford to drive a BMW as it must be expensive. On the one hand it is nice that they have noticed how good condition the car is, on the other I'm completely baffled that people think it must be worth ten times it's true value when in reality it's possibly the cheapest car in the car park.
On the subject of awful car trends that deserve to die, I nominate forced rat
This concept of deliberately ruining a perfectly acceptable paint job/sticking on old tat and somehow in the process spending more money than a decent "detail" or getting areas touched up.
Exactly the same in my office at work. The middle managers all have Insignia company cars (with the odd Volvo V40) and I constantly hear them commenting on how the couple of contractors we have working here must be 'raking it in' because one has a E60 5 Series M-Sport and another has an E90 330d coupe. They're both quantity surveyors too, so the truth is more likely that they understand numbers and realise they can get a high spec used car for less than the staff are paying in BIK for their barren Vauxhalls.

Could you describe in the way one should drive with an air of superiority? I need to do practice as I have a superior German car, should I wave my hand around as I zoom past lowly SAABs and your Volvo S60, snort chuckle...
Not indicating, generally cutting people up and never letting anyone out of junctions even in traffic. Yes its just a generalization but seems to be very common.I'd very much like to see you try and "zoom past" my "lowly" 330bhp Volvo S60R

When did I say it was some kind of supercar? It is indeed a 1650kg barge but is comfortably faster than a 330d even as standard.
Sorry if you are having comprehension problems as I never said anything like what you are suggesting I did.
With the 330d being the point of reference for all others Sorry if you are having comprehension problems as I never said anything like what you are suggesting I did.
You seem to struggle with drivers of certain marques, your issue really. Would you like to mention something else it's faster than, it's quite interesting, no really.
