Because many European countries change the plates regularly, few people actually screw the plates to the car. Instead, they screw a plastic frame on, which the plate clips into. Because the plates are government-issued, the dealer can't slap their advertising on them - so they advertise on the frame instead.
The OP thinks it's cool to have a random German dealer's advertising on the plastic tat that our long-term widely-supplied plates render irrelevant.

I would also check the legality of it. It is entirely possible that the German garages may not be permitted to sell their plate holder to be fitted on a non-German car. Of course, a translation of the OP's German email would help.
Also, it is possible that fitting a German plate-holder to a UK registered car would result in the police taking an interest in the car. Is that something you want for your wife?

I don't know why a true enthusiast would appreciate an advert from a dealer you've never bought anything from let alone the car itself and a leather steering wheel cover is going to look fairly nasty.
Instead, don't bother with any of the cheesy crap and look at fitting a new steering wheel - it's not a difficult job and Ebay is full of used M Sport examples. You could even seek out a particularly tatty one for cheap and then send it to one of the guys who does leather retrims - net result, a brand new feeling M Sport wheel.
You'll appreciate that much more than a fake cover and a plastic frame from a random German dealer.
I'm not looking for any M Sport wheels, had them before and loved them but don't want to fork out £200+ as my wife wont understand why it is worth £200... just want some genuine leather covers for her as she finds it too thin.Instead, don't bother with any of the cheesy crap and look at fitting a new steering wheel - it's not a difficult job and Ebay is full of used M Sport examples. For £260 I can buy some 17" M Sport wheels on Potenza run flats (she wants to keep the runflats!!)
The plate frames are a well known thing on e90post and bimmerforums... think Jinkster on here has succeeded... Frankfurt has so many requests they just list it up for sale on the BMW-Original Teile.
What a bunch of s are on GG.
