First wash of the year
Consider yourself Snapped!
My girlfriend got some pictures of you on the A32 , we were pulled up in a Lay-by taking some pictures of my Mustang!
It was a very good day!
Oh awesome!! I was very surprised to see a fellow yank tank there, was waving furiously at you haha. I tried to give it some beans up the hill, did it sound nice? That's about 5 mins from my Dad's place.....are you local? Consider yourself Snapped!

It did indeed! We are reasonably local. Basingstoke based , was waiting for a friend to arrive.
Mini Snaps from the back of a Drop top Mustang!

Oh mate that's awful! It seems that my Corvette's wheels are notorious for being very easy to bend, so I'm so paranoid about hitting any sort of a bump, let alone a hole like that!! I do feat it's only a matter of time before I have to fork out several thousand for some forged wheels. Jaguar steve said:
Not me.
No road trips or long journeys for us last year and I don't anticipate any this summer either so realistically it's not going to be worth the time and money doing a service and getting a MOT on it or forking out for 6 months VED either.
C'est la vie.
You don't like getting it out for a drive in the summer just for the sake of it? No rush. I've had it for well over a decade and it'll still be here next summer and the summer after that too.
When it's eventually worth putting it back on the road I'll carry on doing what I've always done which is occasionally take it rather than one of the sheds on a longer journey with some purpose but there's always been more to my days than randomly going anywhere simply for the sake of a drive.
Aside of that if the weather is nice enough to just go out driving I'll most definitely be just going out sailing instead.
Ok......I'm sensing you have an XJ220 and a private yacht! I'm hoping to get my dick toys out this weekend.
Unfortunately my dick has to be dropped off at AV Engineering for some work so won't be able to take advantage of the nice weather that's heading our way. Sad for me and my dick.FIREBIRDC9 said:
Saw your Corvette again last week! Shell in Hook , passed you on my way home from work in my Volvo. Sadly not the Mustang this time!
Haha did you?? A very rare November outing for it......my Mum had bought my brother and I a 'track experience' thing at Thruxton about 18 months ago, finally got around to using it, then of course forgot how many miles it was to get home and started to panic, but that Shell saved the day with about 20 miles range left!!! Sadly my bro was only in his RS4, didn't want to get his Noble out now that the ULEZ zone means it costs him £12.50 any time he moves it!

Getting on for time to start putting summer cars away, but its just too nice to carry on using them!
Agreed, was very pleased to get out in the Corvette last week in some nice weather. I even ended up using it to drive myself to hockey (goalie bag even fit in the boot!) but that was mainly down to lack of other cars. Evo is back from the repair shop now so Corvette might be put to bed for a while now. As quite a few sides of life remain pretty depressing in the UK, one positive about this time of year is getting the summer cars out of hibernation and hopefully a sign that spring is nearly upon us!
So time to revive the thread!
I dropped the Corvette off for service and MOT this morning, ready to be taxed from Saturday. Of course, nothing is simple at the moment so of course it's raining and filthy, so even my 5 mins drive has immediately undone the good work I did before putting it under the cover.
Looking forward to putting some miles on this year, including 5 days family boy's trip to the Loire Valley in July

Got it back from the MOT earlier......I did just over 300 miles in it in the last 12 months.
That's criminal.
That definitely needs to improve for sure! That's criminal.

A pertinent post for those who only tax their cars through the summer months.
If you’re planning on taxing your car in April, do it TODAY (31st March)!
The RFL rate rises by approximately 10% depending on banding tomorrow - you can avoid this by taxing the car today, but are still able to start the taxation from tomorrow (1st April).
As a side note - cars previously in Band A (so £0) such as my daily drive (a Citroen C1) move to Band B, and are liable for charge, from 2025.
Are you not then paying an extra month for March? Ok, you're saving on April to October but would the cost of the extra month not potentially wipe that out?If you’re planning on taxing your car in April, do it TODAY (31st March)!
