I want it now. How do you think the insurance companies will react when I ask if they'll insure an 18yo me in it? hehe

Good shed. I loved these as a kid...different from all the Mercs and BMs.

These are uber cool and rare as hens teeth, love them!

However you need to uprate them to DTM spec for full effect smile - taken at Goodwood a couple of years back:

Bit of tlc and that'd be back up and running as good as it could be, instruments are probably just the senders or fairly simple leccy gremlin/poor contact off the cluster.

It's got to be worth that just for the engine and running gear alone.

Regardless of whether you keep it long term or not, if you want a cheap superluxobarge for a while that looks and probably runs as good as anything else of that time this seems a really good buy. Just make sure you've got plenty of fuel coupons!! hehe

Great gangsta car. You should be able to get at least 2 dead bodies in the boot.

I always wanted my dad to buy one of these years ago when a bloke up the road bought one. Still like the idea of one now as a bit of a sleeper!
For that money I wouldn't be too bothered about the kids putting their feet on the seats!
Top shedding!

Definitely, they raced at Donington - Stuck, Jelinski and a third driver whose name I forget (not Rohrl).

Best Shed Ever - awesome barge..!

Built like tanks, my old man had an Audi 100 Turbo. Quick car in its day, but the cost of a major service put my dad off (he did drive a Cortina before it, so it shouldn't have been a surprise that the Audi cost more to run!!)

He says 3 instruments aren't working but doesn't say if the speedo is one of them (it's the only instrument which would mean an MOT failure?) This is probably pre-electronic instruments and so a replacement shouldn't be too much of a challenge tho (I assuming parts from same-period Audis would fit??)
Speedo not checked on MOT. Its a static test.

I recently found an old copy of Performance Car which did a "giant test" comparing this to the appropriate 7 series and Merc. The Audi was in that lovely pearlescant (sp?) white. That reminder sent me off to the classifieds and there was, I seem to remember, one for sale in UK. A ratty red one that looked like it wasn't long for this world.

This one would be a nice barge as long as it lasted, I guess.

Great shed, but I'm sorry I don't like or get it. But then I don't like E-type Jags, MX5s or MGBs either. I'm not that keen or Porsche product either.

Sounds and looks like a lot of bargain moneypit for the money though.

This is the first shed in a while that it would be worth spending a bit of money on.

Big thumbs up from me.

Engine aside, very bland in the looks department and a few of the things in the description set alarm bells ringing.

Not for me, I'm ooot.

I do like this, only because it isn't an S Class or a 7. As such a rarity though i'm guessing parts may be a challenge, or are most standard Audi parts from their sizeable bin?

Absolutely! Run it until the MOT expires, hook out the lump and box for a project (Audi 80 transplant maybe or a kit car?) then flog the seats to a VW camper owner and get some of your hard earned back - jobs a good un' !!!

I believe you can make a Freedom of Information request to the DVLA BUT it needs to be quite specific.

e.g. You can't "How many Fords are taxed" or "How many MGs" - that's way to vague - but you can ask "How many Audis with an engine cap. in excess of 4l - first registered between 1988 and 1993 - are currently taxed for the road".

Car Clubs use this sort of approach a fair bit - at least that's what I'm led to believe by people from those clubs!

He could just have guessed smile
