LMAO at that video. I think it's the little smurfs inside the engine - they're trying to get out with hammers laugh

It sounds rough as a bag of nails even before the noise starts. It can only be either french or a ford.

Call a sign writer. Have the car sign written defective car dealer and manufacturer refuses to fix it then park it in front of the local dealers. See how long the problem persists.

And what exactly is this alleged fault? "My diesel car makes a diesel rattly noise but is working fine so please can I have it repaired/replaced?" I suspect the second word of the dealer's reply might reasonably be "off".
As you can see from my earlier posts, I thought that too. But I don't now I've heard the noise. I wouldn't be happy driving that car - surely eventually whatever is making the noise is going to let go?

Write to the DP of the dealership, to formally reject the vehicle - you can't reject it to the manufacturer as your contract of sale is with the dealership not them

Nothing gets a dealer taking action quicker than the thought of having to buy back a car

With respect, get some balls go to the dealer and do not leave with your car untill its fixed. Even then go out in it with the manager for at least a 30 minute drive to confirm it's ok.

I can not believe that you actually left the dealership with the car like this and thought that was ok, they are laughing at you my friend.

Demand a full fix on the car, new engine if needed, and demand a like-for-like courtesy car. Leave the car with them for six months if need be, because if all they can is say is no solution, then don't accept the motor under any circumstance, no matter how many times they call etc.

You have many rights, and I believe there will be forum info on this site + other sites such as autocar with advice on how to proceed and ultimately reject a new car if not fit for use.

Are you having a laugh? Seriously, would you ever buy a used car that was sounding like the OP's in the second half of his video?

That isn't a derv rattle, that is something wrong. It isn't upto the OP to identify what, the fact that SOMETHING is wrong is pretty evident.

OP, I'd be down at the dealership making a big fuss to get this sorted pronto. I'd go to the length of inviting potential customers to come and see my car and explain how it was barely used and this noise had already started! The signwritten car parked outside is also another decent idea.

nah its a buggati veroon innit?

anyway is it just me or does it sound fairly dodgy before the tapping begins as well, like a squelching sound in with the usual diesel sound?

It sounds like a belt to me. My belts playin up at the moment on my Ford and sounds 'a bit' like that.
Is the noise only bad when idling?
Hope your doing ok as it can be quite stressful, especially having paid a big chunk of money.
