if your willing to travel over to Ireland theres apparently a few great examples to be had for under a grand. a mate just made the trip to get one as his shell was rotting worse than a corpse, and was cheaper to pick up the mini for the body than to get all new panels/floor.

Decent cheap Minis do exist, but they're getting harder to find for sub £3k these days. Here's a few to be getting on with. smile

Have a look at Hillman Imps too then as they are actually better cars and handle very well despite the rear-engine. That said, they may be on their way up in value.
Imps are also a lot harder to find, there's hardly any left compared to Minis.

I've just sold mine (1996 Sprite) and I'm really quite surprised what people seem to be paying for them. Mine wasn't perfect but it was solid, clean and honest. That said, the lad who bought it said it'll be £1800 less to insure than his 1.2 fiesta in the first year alone - he can make it perfect with the cash saved and learn a lot in the process.

Not a car for a young lad driving like a tt though - when you have used up your meagre reserve of talent and come off the road it'll be very much more serious for you than in a modern car.

How many more times do i have to stress this. I swear its like im just talking to my self. I DO NOT DRIVE LIKE A tt. It seems all i had to say was "i want a car that goes into bends easily" and everybody goes on a rant about me driving like an idiot? Why does everybody have to fight everybody all the time. Why can't people just get along? You can be doing 30 and still a car will struggle round a bend. Just stop ASSUMING i am like all other 17 year old wkers who race around in their little Clio's and Saxo's and reallise i am trying to get my hands on a classic car to restore it and keep the British Legend going, not to crash it into a tree and kill my self. Im not some chav who thinks he is Michael Schumacher by flooring it everywhere he goes. Thank you.

A mate of mine has a old mini (1970s or something) its only a rolling shell at the moment. He is however selling it with all the parts needed to put it back together again. I think its a 1275GT though I am sure he has a 1380cc engine to go in it.

If interested PM me and I will pass on your details.

You're quite right, my apologies. Anyway, turns out my "buyer" was yet another timewaster :-( PM me if you're interested in a classic Mini in the Stafford area!
