I'd go for white.

How much does it cost to get a car wrapped?

For something with a full wrap and different material anything from 3-6K

The guys that im looking to get the wrap done from told me for 4 year guarantee on r8 i was looking about £1100 upwards depending on choice of vinyl.

Thought it was good price as not many companies offer 4 year guarantee.

Wrap it like a Gallardo.

Or if that can't be done, sell it and get a Gallardo.
Weak response from the fella with no car listed in his garage. I'm sure I'll see your Gallardo over in the readers cars section any day now, mind.

OP that is beautiful - more pictures?!

If it's an insurance backed guarantee yes. If not, and the supplier ceased trading, it's worthless.

How far upwards is "£1100 upwards"?

And have you seen examples of their finished products for a £1100 wrap, a £2000 wrap, etc?

That might sway my decision in your shoes. No point in having it the colour you like if the end result looks like an Arfur Daley special.

I'm never that bothered about colour for my own cars but I'm hoping some of my random thoughts help you out. smile If the forum can help you then good luck to you, OP!

I wish.

My point of rather owning a Gallardo than an R8 means I'm pretending to own one does it?

I appreciate all the help.

well it depends on what colour/type material you use. My mate got his a5 wrapped in gloss white from these guys and the quality and finish was like it was an actual paint job. Gloss/matt wraps tends to be less then the fancy vinyls i.e carbon, brushed. But i dont really want carbon or anything like that.

3k - 6k is way too much and i doubt many companies would charge that much. My mate got his audi a5 done for only £1200 (icluding door shuts).

I think 3k price would probably be a chrome wrap which i dont want....not to my taste and apparently will not be allowed by the law soon.

Chrome and carbon are the most expensive wraps iirc.

Will cost a bit more than a normal one coloured wrap but not too much more, keeps it audi, makes it look different, would make it look cool as fk.

I done one in Forza 3 like that and it suited the shape of the car. Will try to do one again and see what you think.

Couple of things:

On paint guarantee - make sure it covers the lacquer rather than just the paint as i've been told that is the bit that usually peels when you take the wrap off.

On colour choice - I would wrap the side blades in white, powdercoat the wheels white and leave the rest of the car red.

That would say more to me than any brochure.

I really like the red so I think it's a crime that you're covering it up wink but if you have to wrap your car, it sounds like you've done your research better than most.

Another question to others out there- if it protects the paint, is it worth wrapping a red Audi R8 in red for £1100 for 4 years, and then if you wish to sell it you have flawless paintwork underneath? Probably costs more than that to properly refurbish old paintwork. scratchchin

It wouldn't be worthwhile on my Octavia vRS hehe but could it pay for itself in 4 years on a Porsche 911 by having a car's paintwork protected? What do the PH Panel think?

Matt black redface I still like it even though it perhaps belongs in the noughties ...

TX.

Edit - just to concur with others, very nice car! Walked past one a while back & was staggered at just how low it is.

I was thinking along these lines also. I'd keep it red but change the "side blades" in black or white. Nice car. smile
