Range rover sport
Really?
I would put my money on a TVR
But yes of course, a TVR would have far better potential for classic status. I just think theres an off chance that the sport will be desirable once such cars are no longer made.

The E34 M5 is a funny one. I think it should be a lot more expensive than it is, but values haven't really risen. One to watch.
I think they'll follow suit after the E28. A good one of those is £15-20k today. There were originally around twice as many UK E34 M5s as there were E28s (343 vs 187), but both have seen fairly high attrition rates over time and I can well see a mint E34 M5 in 2022 being the same sort of £15-20k. Of course they also cost no small amount to get from present average condition up to a condition that will command that sort of value...
Finding examples of those now is a tough job (at least in RHD UK spec) and would probably see you close on £8k-£10k but everything else (and probably the majority) is 100k+, multiple owner cars.
They are generally enthusiast owned and as such they get driven, so in 10yrs time there are going to be some big mileage cars about; mine included, and therefore and I suspect it will negate a vast increase in values, particularly in real terms.
Possibly.
Who knows?
ETA - Obviously I hope I get to eat these words in 10yrs time

Higher milage e28 M5s that still work. Eg this one that sold for £7,750. As they move up in value, people won't be scared of buying them to 'refresh':

Various Crapi's. MK1's, late 2.8 Brooklands/Specials, 3.0S
Porsche 928's. Getting thin on the ground now.

Or perhaps the price of petrol will turn everything on its head and fun, lightweight classics will be sought after. Special edition Elise, Puma, MX-5 etc.

There are just too many 205s left for it to happen to them. There are still 6,000 on the road and SORN, despite being at least 18 years old. Some may fetch £10k, but only the best of the best.
Not mentioned yet, but 3 door Impreza STIs - version 5 and 6 are potential candidates. Providing they are pretty much standard, low mileage examples. 22Bs are already holding steady at around £25k.

I was going to check the prices of the NSX.. but there's none for sale on PH currently! Has anyone seen these creep under £10K? If not, I'm sure they'll hold or rise in the next 10 years. Also tipped by Harry in this month's EVO.
No, NSX's are still a lot more than £10k. As are R34 GTR's.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
