Yup... also now thinking about it the Sierra indicators and headlamps were the same height, whereas on this there seems to be a smaller side indicator than headlamp.
The webbing on the underside of the bonnet is wrong for a Sierra.

Did you notify the police and make sure you didn't touch anything. The lighter probably has finger prints on it of the criminal.

The Audi is a good guess I first thought sierra and they have to be thick as st criminals the sweaty residue in those gloves is definitely enough for dna.

IIRC both the Audi and Passat have a longitudinal engine.

It's a Mk1 Octavia.
