I'd have a steel tubular chassis with modern running gear and suspension with a classic coupe body shell. Something like a SL300 gullwing, Alfa Romeo zagato, 250 GTO eto.

The engine would need to be modern, LS1/3.

Reliable, smooth drive, cool as f*ck body.

I'd go for something like:

Three seats (with the driver in the centre)
Longitudinal, rear-mid-mounted 2.0 N/A flat six engine generating about 250bhp at around 9000rpm.
RWD
Non-servo'd brakes
Non-assisted steering
6-speed H-gate manual gearbox, with 1-5 geared for fun and 6 for maximum efficiency at 70mph.
205/55/15 tyres on the lightest wheels possible
Under 1000kg wet weight
Under 180cm wide
Simple manual soft top
Fully switchable traction control, ABS, stability control, etc.

Styling - 60s-ish. Something along the lines of the 246 Dino.

Basically I suppose I want a cross between the Boxster and the Elise. driving

Fezza 458 - nothing else needed
Really? You wouldn't want it to be pretty?

Or VTOL?

Boot big enough for a hooker?

Be able to park it on end?

Stealth mode for the exhaust?

10000 mpg?

Front mounted machine guns?

The budget for the car is infinite, let your imagination have a play.
