Looking for a new car, must do 0-60 in 6 seconds or less, have 7 seats, do 50mpg average, top 190mph and be easy to maintain myself.
My budget is £1,500.

Looking around, it seems most are largely agreed on recommending ageing supercars in preference to the 20k, family friendly, frugal saloon OP is looking a recommendation for.
Oh I forgot about that, not long ago what car threads went like this:I want something fast, discreet and practical - BMW M5
I want something I can just use at the weekends and the odd trackday - BMW M5
I want something that is reliable and cheap to run but still fun to drive - BMW M5
I want something classy and cool that stands out from souped up saloons/hatchbacks - BMW M5
I want something that will do 30k miles per year in comfort without drinking fuel - BMW M5
It's a matter of fitness for purpose and accepting compromise. I don't really like big, heavy cars, turbocharged engines, four cylinder engines or front wheel drive - but the Lotus is a four pot, the 350Z is a fat b
d and the Saab is a big, heavy, front wheel drive car with a very unsubtly turbocharged four pot.
I put up with the peasant engine in the Lotus because a six would be too big and heavy for it. I put up with the Z being porky because - well, mostly because my wife loves the thing, I suppose, but I do rather like the noise it makes. I put up with the Saab being so deficient in the areas I consider important in a driver's car because that's not what we bought it for. Barges are for comfort and practicality, and it's really good at those things. Ideally it would have had an automatic gearbox and I also gave serious thought to the 3.0TiD (before researching it thoroughly and running away), and there's not a chance in hell I'd want a diesel automatic in any car I bought for fun.

If you dare stick up a video of some 'questionable' driving on public roads you will be flamed to within an inch of your life, Unless it's an iconic car or you happen to be Chris Harris, If by chance it's both then you will get praise.
