I am a proper car geek, petrolhead... I go blank when it comes to Astons !
Are you sure? It's not that complex.J4CKO said:

Lol, will do some homework but I think its a bit like looking at an Airbus, by and large they all look the same but vary in size, AM's since about the late nineties are variations on a theme, though it is a nice looking theme.
Yes, how dare they keep a company styling theme All of their current range (exclude the Cygnet) are instantly recognisable as an Aston, which I'm guessing is the purpose of it. If you notice, every car maker does it.George H said:

Isn't their problem they have no cash to invest in new models?
Pretty much, certainly nowhere near what their rivals have sadly. The VH platform has gone from cutting edge stuff to pretty much the norm now. It still makes a fabulously stiff and light car, but the others have caught up.I love Astons, but I'm getting bored of the looks, every time they introduce a new one I have to study and compare the photos to see any changes! They all look the same at a glance, even the dated Vanquish looks more exiting than the newer models!
I don't even rate the look of the One 77, a bit too fusy around the headlights, looks like a car for rich people with small willies!!
Time for a radical new direction I think.

I'll stand up for J4CKO. Yes, lots of manufacturers have a house style that they stick to, but AM have far fewer differentiating models than, say, Audi (eg Q7, R8, A4) or Porsche (eg Boxter, 911, Cayenne).
>whoosh<Aston have one platform and make 3 bodies plus ragtops. DB9 (with DBS, Virage), Vantage (V8, V12, Zagato) and Rapide. All are very fast grand tourers with varying degrees of sportiness, some with 2 seats, some 2+2, some full 4 seaters. But all fast grand tourers, Aston do one thing and do it well.
Audi make how many body styles?? A4, A6, A8 look pretty similar (as do 3, 5, 7 series), I'm sure if Aston produce a giant seven-seat 4WD vehicle it'd look different to the others, but that's not what they do (yet)!
Remove Cayenne from Porsche, which they shared with VW Toerag and there's not a lot of differentiation between the Box, 911 and Panamera.

The new DBS is coming very soon, should be this year I believe. It is also very nearly a completely new car, not just a refresh or facelift.
I have a few friends at Aston :-)
Tell them to pull their fingers out and innovate thenI have a few friends at Aston :-)
I for one am fed up with this approach and will be looking alot hard at the competition when my Vantage S goes.

I see your point but see a Vantage and DB9 parked together and they are at least as dissimilar as a Cayman and a 911 Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
