My XR3i was used in the great TV show "Virgin Memories"!!

Was really good fun and got paid £100 for 2 hours of them filming the car. At one point we had to rock the car to mimick you know what!

I once went to try to buy a car "as seen on TV". Was a classic Aston V8, "was restred for a TV show, and utterly mint" said the seller. Lieing tosser. Drove all the way to portsmouth for 9AM, only to discover it was rough as a badgers arse. Better yet, the documentary showed the car being rolled onto it's side during the "restoration" process.
Thankfully, I wasn't that desperate for stock, so I walked...

I also know a man who has been featured on TV, but it was on "Cops on Camera" or such like, being a little over enthusisatic on the cat and fiddle =)

My Citroen BX was used on Used Car Roadshow (I know, check me!) and the O/H's Saxo which is basically my daily was used on one of Chris Barrie's programs. Massive Speed I think it was called, there was a chavved up purple one and a 'standard' silver VTR. Hers wasn't the purple one!

edit: I put a dodgey copy on youtube of the BX feature. I must have known this thread would be created all these years later!

ITV news were doing a segment about the snow and ice a while ago. While the reporter is talking about how dangerous the conditions are, you can see me in the background drifting my old S2000 around a roundabout...once...twice...three times hehe

I have it on DVD somewhere, and got a feature of on RayJohnson fella from YouTube. biggrin
You have to win for this, it's absolutely amazing biggrin

My old TT was in the local rag, you wouldn't know unless I pointed it out to you. The paper were doing some photo shoots of some dogs in a local park, my car was parked past the gates as I was playing football with a few friends in another section. Only when I sifted through the paper did I recognise my (terrible) parking and the datestamp on the photo.

My 1982 BMW 635CSi was on the crappy Used Car Roadshow - I asked not to be pictured, featured or named and didn't even bother with being in the crowd - but I won't bother getting involved with a car for TV again - 5 or 6 hours standing around whilst the 'stars' preen and everyone else gets supremely bored.

Car looked good though smile

SWMBO bought a light blue MK2 Escort in the late 80s, turns out it was a panda car that was used on the Sweeney.

Many many years ago (late 70s) my dad's Mk1 Escort was featured in a drama set in Belgium but actually filmed in Leeds, so it had some Belgian plates fitted to it. Unfortunately I've no idea what the programme was other than it was made by Yorkshire TV.

My mum's Clio is in a book on Yorkshire in a lovely photo of a street in Harrogate (signed copies are available).
