They are in danger of diluting the "M" to the point where it loses all value. I think these are seriously ugly cars but when you add a boot like the 1m they really appeal.
Will the ///M badge/brand go the same way as "Carrera"?

I really don't like the front of the F20. I think the rear and profile look better but the front is just hideous.

The current car has an M-Sport and i suspect this is the same and not a fully blown M car.

I dislike the front of the normal car but i think this looks better with the bodykit just like the previous car.

Lets hope they do a 120 M-Sport too and not just the 135 etc and i might replace our current one.

I reckon that'll be a lot of fun.
I might even be tempted by one.

Riggers, are you absolutely sure that "the M135i uses the same Twinpower 3.0-litre turbo six as the old 1M Coupe" - TwinPower also refers to the twin scroll N55 engine that was used in the later production 135i, not just the twin-turbo N54 used in the earlier 135i and the 1M. I thought the N54 was now dead and future cars were going to be N55 based....?
Not absolutely sure, but everybody seems to be saying N54 or M54S, which I think is what they call the motor in the 1M?

Ugly as F......

Why won't BMW offer the AWD versions in the UK?

Given Britains weather, you'd think there would be a market for an AWD BMW 1/3/5 series?
Apparently it's too much of a hassle for them to redesign the car to RHD with AWD.

Really can't get used to this new 1-series, it's properly ugly, makes the E87 look brilliant.

Agreed and it takes something to make the E87 look good!

Looks quite a lot smarter than when the F20 1-series originally got revealed, and good to see them putting in a proper engine.

It just doesn't look right - so much so that it doesn't matter how they trim it and power it, frankly the old 130i will forever be a nicer car IMHO...

There is already an M Sport version of the F20 you just haven't seen one yet because they start shipping next month.

Engine-wise you can order any of the current F20 range plus there are two new ones, the 125i (215bhp 2.0 turbo petrol) and 125d (215bhp twin-turbo diesel i.e. 123d replacement).

I'm expecting they will offer another in the middle (130i 2.0 turbo perhaps 245-250bhp) and then this range topping 135i

I've been liking the idea of a hatch-based 135i since the spy-shots first appeared.

Ditch those daft stickers and i'd have one....

Although the old 130i was high 20's when released, I'd bet that OTR price would rival a Golf R around mid-30's.

I've seen a couple of F20s about now. Sometimes cars don't photograph very well, and look gorgeous in person.

These don't photograph very well, and look fugly in person.

If it's N54 then it is the early 135i / 1M motor smile

This is so horrendously UGLY I cannot believe BMW is getting away with this. And now they present an M pastiche with the wellknown racing colours???

They must be kidding...

This thing does not belong here!

....or, if it's Twin Power, then I think it's N55 - see http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/content/experience/...

Why not call it a 135is and use that moniker instead of slapping the tri- colour everywhere and confusing people.
