Thanks for all the replies, it is good to know that the cover is ok as well as the price!

Thanks for the suggestions of the alternatives too. AXA and Asda were more expensive, and Greenlight seems to have an error on its site that means it won't quote and you can't alter whatever info it doesn't like (think I have put the year my wife got her licence in wrong so it thinks she was too young to pass her test). Will call Tesco in the morning to double check the details (as it is so cheap) and then put on risk, so thanks again for your help everyone!

Check the excess don't increase if you use a non approved repairer. Courtesy car etc.

Get best rate and then go back to Aplan and see what they can do. You mention two cars is one on an introductory bonus or have you always had two cars?

Another positive comment for Tesco. My brother was with them for a few years and was very impressed with the service and value he got, especially when he had to pursue a claim from a bus company for a bus that hit his car whilst parked, and then didn't stop/report it,..
