I always give Nissan Micras a wide berth. I can't be the only person who worries about them.

I have my car in London and its not attracted any dents or scrapes. Merely due to my dilligence as a driver in avoiding other peoples haphazard London driving.

Buy a cheap small car and get it painted in bedliner (used in pickup trucks) it was proven on Myth Busters that it does make the car almost invulnerable to small dints and scrapes, though obviously a heavy bash will still deform the panels etc.

Some of the early US Saturns were made of a composite and didn't dent no matter how hard you wacked the panels. They also didn't rust.

Shame you can't buy them in the UK

I'm with Garlick on this,it's a state of mind. If you don't care 'they' leave you alone. I usually use my battered old Discovery to drive into Town but that's mor e because of the appalling state of the road surfaces and their effect on low profile tyres and rims than fears of dents. But I don't think it's picked up any more dents or scuffs from being parked in the WestEnd,although the front bumper is at tail light hight for most cars which makes people a little more circumspect when squeezing in a space.

On a related topic!,I love it when you see an expensive car in London usually a Continental GT or top specRR or Cayenne with completely mullered wheel rims and every corner scraped, to me that just shouts ' I'm so wealthy,I just don't give a fk!' The complete opposite of me and my paranoid searches for four spaces in the corner of the supermarket car park
