A 2 seater is hardly an estate either is it. Surely its just a sportscar with a boot?
A Shooting-brake you mean!

Made up or not, whoever did the PS work it looks epic, sort of Mclaren meets Scirroco even thought the Scirroco is a bit of a woofer.

The 'artists impression' is the bd 3 way child of an MP4-12c, FF and a Scirocco. What a piece of st publication Auto Express is.

OK so the question is not what the pics look like! The question now is whether McLaren are even planning this or whether it is just made-up april-fool fodder. The pics look st anyway.

I love breadvan styling. I am the only one who wishes the 1M was based on the standard 1 Series not the coupe.

Though the back looks like they photoshopped a Volvo C30.

Probably did...

- my first thought

The FF is estate shaped to give more space because the engine is in the front. The McLaren is mid engined, are they going to put a parcel shelf on top of the engine and call it a boot? hehe
- and my second. With an engine in there you aren't going to get much precticality, and it would take a big change to put in extra seats.

The FF can work, if you want something like that, but a mid-engined estate seems a no-go for me.

They might get a boot in there if they make the engine smaller hehe

I would love a smart roadster but the lack of space in the "boot" is the main reason there isn't one outside my house. Money would be the reason there wouldn't be a McLaren estate outside unfortunately!

Auto Express = file in the bullsh*t pile before you've finished reading the title and working out what bits of what cars they've hashed together badly in PS for their 'exclusive pictures'.

Why would they be planning this? Surely a GT would be more likely, what is this 'thing' meant to do better than the MP4?

This would keep your pizzas warm on the way back from the takeaway way better than a standard MP4.

They have one in the front too, quite a lot of room really.(I had one without the hatchback).
