My wife has had her VTS for 8 years. Has never missed a beat. Usual tyres and an exhaust. Yearly service. It is great wee motor to drive. It is pretty nippy and hogs the road like a kart. I have to say that it has been one of the most reliable cars we have owned and a pleasure to sit in.
Ordered a van (Motorhome) for a customer years ago, he spent months deciding which van and nearly as long picking a special order upholstery called Artemis which is a very tastefull green, 6 months later his van arrives from the factory with bright orange upholstery, doh!!!
Turns out that Artemis was the pattern and available in a two colours but we only had the green in the swatch book, sadly the factory didnt ask which one and built it in orange!
After a week of facepalming I manned up and told him, thank God his wife loved it so all was well with the world.
The same wasnt the same when my colleagues lengthy advance order for one of his punters turned up after a 6 month wait as a Gold manual van not an Automatic in Silver!

I once bought a 306 that was supposed to have the 2.0 16V, it was only when I went to pick it up (EBay job) that I realised somebody had fitted the 8V engine to the damn thing!
Still bought it though, as it was a long, long train journey home!
(The price was adjusted to a suitable level)

If it's any consolation, I have just returned from a journey from Portsmouth to Carlisle by train, and back via my new 147 GTA which I picked up today.
It was only after driving from Carlisle to Birmingham and thinking, god, the economy really is poor, that I realised I'd driven 200 miles without using 6th....first car with 6 gears![paperbag](/inc/images/paperbag.gif)

See when I get a car I'm probably going to have the opposite. I've only driven cars with 6 gears so if I get a car with 5 I will probably go for 6th and grab reverse It was only after driving from Carlisle to Birmingham and thinking, god, the economy really is poor, that I realised I'd driven 200 miles without using 6th....first car with 6 gears

Tidy that one. Red with the different front bumper iirc. I think he went to town on cleaning it.
That's the one, Autodelta front. I'll make a thread once the weather improves.Had to stop for a bit as well to assist a bloke on the motorway whose E36 525 detonated itself in front of me....big ouch, looked like conrod through the block. Had to leave him and his wife glumly waiting for an AA flatbed. Not good.
