I must say '85-95 is a bloody good era to pick. Ideally I'd have :

Honda NSX
Porsche 928 GT/GTS
Merc 190E 2.5-16 EVO
Merc 500E
BMW E34 M5 3.6

Edit: Mustn't forget the Nissan P10 Primera GT, underrated car imo.

2.0 16v Turbo 4x4 220bhp

All LHD, only a few thousand made. A lot in white for the Gendarme.

Weren't these 2.9?
It was indeed a 2.9. The 2.8 was the VR6 Golf which was 174bhp against the Corrado 190bhp

Nein....the 2.8 was the earlier motor - also available in the Corrado....prior to the enlargement to 2.9.

Oh, as for which car - the Alfa 155 Q4.....

Are you talking about the MI16? Very different beast.

Yep just a MI16, still great cars but no T16.

Hard to tell the difference which I like.

16' wheels not 15' and a slightly different boot spoiler on the T16.

I've had one, '91 Polo G40. A cracking little car, awesome little 1.3 8v supercharged engine! Little fragile mind...

Now I'm onto my second, an '83 VW Golf GTi Mk1. Bought it as a bare shell but slowly restoring to run a 1.8 20vT engine and built with sprinting and circuit use in mind. Should be on the road by Spring I hope.

An Audi S2 will be next. Not a total minter, just one I can still have a bit of fun with and tweak the power/handling a little.

2.8 maybe in the USA. As far as I know all UK Corrado were 2.9?!

205 GTi
205 XS
MR2 MK1
Lotus Elise (just, although I think it officially went on sale in '96, but was still being shown off in '95)
Clio Williams
Renault Sport Spider (again, didn't launch until '96, but pretty sure it also made an appearance in '95)
Delta Integrale
Ferrari 348. Seriously tempted, although I know there are better Ferraris
Lotus Esprit Sport 300

A 560SEC would top the list, or maybe an LM002 for the sts and giggles. But then there is the 420seac, but that would just break all the time, or an Alpina 325i with pin stripes or even a Lada Niva Cossack for unpretentious fun. Damnit, tough question. Maybe a 900 again, they are OK, apart from the lag or maybe an E30 M3. Oh I don't know. I give up.

I'm pretty sure they were launched in the UK as 2.8s. The Corrado VR6 was launched in 92/93 iirc. The same time as the Golf VR6 which was also originally a 2.8. I seem to remember the 2.9 units being dropped into both of them a couple of years later. Any dub boys in to confirm?? wink
