Sounds like a good buy. You sound like a good brother and othe sis sounds grateful and hardworking.
Unfortunately, your 21 yr old sis and her boyfriend sound like a pair of daft s.

Sister number 2.

My old man bought my sister a car a few years ago, not new but a very tidy Fiesta which would have lasted years. He bought it out of a savings policy he'd been paying into since he was 18 and matured upon his retirement.

Anyway...6 months or so later sister crashed car and wrote it off. While under the influence. 18 month ban. (she was unhurt)

Sisters.....just hassle!

Thats because Sister #3 has herself well and truly sorted and is currently doing a world tour in a Land Rover before she comes back home to be a serious vet lol

Yeah why did you bother?

When is giving people handouts ever a good idea? Just leads to people being unappreciative and spoilt

You would be doing her more of a life favour by not bothering and letting her get on with it

New fiesta's do look pretty cool. Most people just want to pay a fixed monthly payment for a car and don't want to run around in cheap so "must be unreliable" transport. Especially if it's needed for work.

I think it may be more stubborn pride than ungratefulness really as we have all been raised to be as self sufficiant as we possibly can. Maybe me buying the Polo in the first place wasn't the smartest move but the intentions were good. Should probably take this as sign to let them make their own choices in the world and stop being Mr Protective?
Bing!
If she'd asked and you'd sorted it, then it was snubbed thats one thing, but from the sounds of it she's tried to let you know as soon as possible it's not the one for her. I think I'd have preferred that than having someone go through 'Grannys knitted you a sweater' at family dinners months down the line

Sister 2. The boyfriend of sister 1 needs knocking down a peg. Throw some red bull at him.

Give to sister 2, let her enjoy fixing it and learning about how it works.

Let her enjoy the satisfaction of driving a car she has worked on to get to a decent condition again.

Say nothing to sister 1 about it.

Practice your smug face in case either the job or car doesnt come off.

Getting a car on finance to secure a new job sounds like a bit of gamble.

She can't be that desperate if she can turn down a perfectly decent motor on account of it having the wrong badge on the front. Mental.

She's really looking forward to her new Fiesta and you just rained on her parade perhaps? hehe

You have been very generous. However, sister 1 may have thought she had it all under control and looking forward to a nice looking new car, i.e. perhaps not thinking that she had a desperate problem that she needed help solving, and you've put her in an awkward position by going to quite some sacrifice to stand in the way of her car dream, and doing it in a way that she can't even reasonably complain about it. Or perhaps she doesn't fancy driving a car that came from an estate but recognised that's also not a logical reason to turn you down.

Either that or her boyfriend needs recalibrating.

Give it to sister number 2. If sister 1 does end up desperate for transport then at least the car's in the family and the sisters can fight / grovel / swallow pride / best of luck etc over it.

Firstly big yourself up, nice gesture you're doing there.

Buy the Polo anyway and deliver to sister (the one who wants it) with all parts needed for her to do work herself.

As for the other sister thats a bit silly, if I were you i'd be seriously hacked off by that.
