Veyron. Seeing as its an alien no one is going to care about speed limits, find a dinosaur to top that!

Ford Focus Estate, I would imagine is fairly "typical" in terms of design and packaging.

I think if I was showing an alien then I'd want to represent the "most common" traits of a car, so some super car won't do that. The most common car will be something very common and pretty boring to a petrol head. The focus is medium sized, with medium engines. I also ripped off the OP's idea of going for an estate, as it kind of illustrates how we might have bigger one for carrying more stuff or passengers and represents vans in some ways too. But ignoring the huge boot the rest of the car is very normal, medium car stuff IMO.

M3 saloon perhaps. V8.

Looks normal, so mr Zog wont think all cars have splitters and rear wwings, you could eplain how it works as a car eg a mode of transport, boot, rear seats ect. Yet eplain the idea of driving as a pleasure due to V8 driftyness.

Whats the 0-60 of a T-Rex?

Well seeing as they're not going to have nice smooth roads, you're going to need something which can make it's way over (possibly) very rough terrain, while resembling a 'normal' car as much as possible.

I choose this.

For some reason I can't get past this car, it just seems like the best car to show an alien!

It would have to be something not 100% reliable, have a charismatic engine, seats more than 2, has a boot and is attractive. The latter to show that to humans cars aren't merely tools for getting from A to B.

I came up with one candidate:

Alfa Romeo 155 V6

Since aliens may not be au fait with electronics, I would use a car that was entirely mechanical so an alien could see that petrol was pumped mechanically into a carburettor and then into cylinders to mix with air. The throttle and manual steering would be obvious and easy to work out as would the suspension so i would avoid anything clever there.

I would show them an Alfasud Sprint as that also shows good mainstream aesthetic appreciation.

B5 A4/S4 for me.

I've always seen them as the most car-y looking car.

Duh the aliens clearly use flying dinosaurs for example

Pterosaur - wing spans up to around 6m so the equivalent of say a MX5 as possibly only suitable for two aliens and minor luggage.

Quetzalcoatlus - wing spans up to 16m and possibly the largest flying creature, effectively a MPV
