I know full well how a filter lane works, and I use it up to a point. I just don't tolerate people who cut in front of me at the VERY last point of merge. Just because you are in a filter lane it doesn't give you the right to cut in. You wait for the next available gap that 'should' be opened by the car behind the car that's at the point of merge.

I'm not justifying the behaviour of the people who sit out and block the lanes, but having had to experience the 'last ditch cutter inners' on a commute for 3 years, I kind of understand why some people get pissed off.

I may be shot down in flames for posting this, but nearly every black RR driver appears to be a complete and utter toss-pot of the first order. The majority have absolutely no need for such a gas guzzling device. It's pure marketing and look at me syndrome. They should have been put down at birth or launched into space. The black RR footballer-come-flash git types get no sympathy from me. Only two types of people need RR's; farmers and the emergency services. Right, gripe#1 over.

As per OP, experienced some fking awful driving from some arse in a black RR Sport on the A44 Oxford to Woodstock Road. The driver had zero awareness of those around him, simultaneously straddling multiple lanes, and over-taking where two lanes become one. The rest of the time he insisted in attempting to drive inside my boot and if not satisfied with this he tries the same with the poor chap in front, post the ste over taking move. It makes me want to shout wkER !! furious
Erm, how many farmers and emergency service people do you see using the RR for its off road ability/as a work horse? Apart from the odd Police car/airport police, cant say ive seen many in RR's being used as such.

Sounds like that chip your growing, just got bigger

Allocating cars on the basis of need is the top of a very slippery slope.

Thanks for sharing.

FGS. How can you define an entire set of car users on the basis of what they drive? You know nothing about any of them!

Yes I have to admit when behind the wheel of my Range Rover I drive on the back bumper of every car, cut people up, speed, and just generally intimidate and infuriate every other road user with my I own the road attitude. Maybe I should change to a VAG or BMW product as these cars are all driven by courteous saintly people. Why typecast a person because of the car they choose to drive? I use my Range Rover for its intended use IE towing, carting dogs about, of road when shooting and if needed a quick scrub up and you can park out front of the Ritz if you wanted to (Not for me though).

Sadly there are so many many keyboard hard men, english teachers and 12 yr olds that I sometimes wonder whether Pistonheads has had its day as far as I am concerned, victim of its own success I guess. Only the dross seems to stand out.

Once again PH manages to amazed and disappoint me all at once...
I'm a keen snowboarder and when I have a few more available funds, I will be looking at RRs for my winter trips. Nothing sucks quite so much as being halfway through the scottish highlands or the alps and nearly driving off a cliff. The extra room, ground clearance and general practicality makes it more suitable than a 4X4 estate, and the fact they look nice on the inside adds to why it is the perfect tool for scooting across a frozen europe.

I'm doing a season in canada this year and I will for the most part be borrowing my uncles F250 when I need to get anywhere.

Plus I sell drugs so need to look hard, innit?

So they should merge at the merge point, as long as it's behind you?

The thing is the rest of us can ignore these folk, wind them up a bit more or simply leave. You're stuck with them, and their numbers are seemingly swelling.

And those who purely come on here to talk about german 2.0tdi's and MPV's....nothing related to being driving enthusiasts at all. To think it started as a TVR forum!

In relation to the OP...if someone driving that badly is enough to annoy you more than 2 minutes after it occurred. You obviously don't have enough to stress about, life must be very good. Lifes too short.
