OHC Tick
Alloy head Tick
IRS Tick
5 Spd Box Tick

Shows just how neanderthal the contemporary Capri really was.

I'd have a Z any day of the week.

That is by far the least believable aspect of the advert.

Hubba hubba

I've been after one of these since I learnt to drive and bought my first car. They were an awful lot cheaper back then (deep in the last century), but tantalisingly they've always been JUST out of my financial reach. Will be the first purchase after I win the lottery!

... and yet user incompetance sees me rating it just a "5" - maybe I shouldn't be allowed one? D'oh!

Absolutely beautiful... cloud9

They look so "right" to me. Remember seeing these as a kid and thinking I need to own one... one day.

Love one of these. Really turned on to them by this video and the ones associated with it.

Love it - tho I'd like one which is a bit more 'Japanese' looking and a bit less 'American' (lose the wheels and the illegal numberplates - basically)

Ah yes, the illegal numberplates - and by less than 1 year too - it would be a churlish Plod who'd bring that one up smile

The Lexus LS400 taught the Germans what real refinement was
There have been several owners on here who have said they are over-rated as a barge and no more refined than the German equivalents.

The Lexus LS did however teach the world that money doesn't necessarily equal zest or an ounce of excitement.

Lovely car......

Always strikes me as strange though when people spend a small fortune renovating a car and then sell it a short time later after doing little or no miles with it.

Funny, as a kid at the time (early '70s), they never really did anything for me, and they seemed to be everywhere.

Now they have grown on me and would have one over a Capri in an instant. smile

Serious amount of want but i had NO idea that they fetch £15k.

Another car onto the "lottery list" (its getting frickin long now!)
Compared to £28k for a Toyota GT86 I think this is an absolute bargain wink
You can't really compare it with a GT86. The GT86 will start every day, you don't have to worry about driving it on salty roads and every part will be on the end of a phone line - not that you'll need any for five years.

On the other hand the 28K will be £10K in 5 years while your £15K will be at least £15K - assuming it's well looked after, kept in a dry garage and doesn't venture out in bad weather. The Toyota can live in the street.

But the £13K "change" gives you plenty of money for a daily and a decent timber garage.

Exactly, the 240Z also looks and sounds fantastic....sadly the GT86 does not.
I'd be happy with one.

Edited to say I'd be happy with one for £15K in a couple of years.

Always want one at the time, never bought one and there's a very high possibility I never will own one!

Scrapped my MkI Capri back then as well.

Durrr, what an idiot!

Jeez back in about 2007 you could pick a cracking one of these up for £2-3k, I don't know where that extra 1 at the front suddenly sprouted from in the last 5 years, I would like to own one but for that price I can think of more desirable metal really!

Nice indeed; it's been for sale a long while because priced like a standard car but later engine, Wolfrace wheels etc. Lovely though and for maybe £12-13k a good buy.
I love 240Z's, japanese E type as was called in th eday, but more reliable. Rotted no worse than an E type either!!! Reliable classic too, use it every day if you can avoid the salt!! Only going one way now as others have said

That's a very nice car.

One to keep hold of, drive and enjoy.

Pretty reasonable value for money considering the work she's had done.
