Are there any plans to put this package in the coupe? I really like the idea (and economy) of this car but I can't get over the hatchback's looks.
I expect they'll follow the same plan as the previous 1 series, 3years after the hatch they made very big changes along with releasing the new Coupe. So i'd expect the Coupe coming 2015-16.4.6 to 60 with an e-diff and 1545kg
Can somebody please put a quaife on one of these and stage 1 it to 420hp+
If you bought the car at (customary 10% off) £27,000, stage 1 and quaife, you'll be looking at £30,000 all in for a seriously fast car.

Dont think you would say that if you saw one in the flesh.
Pretty sure I could - the standard car in the flesh is monstrously bad looking, with those headlights and the forward sloping grill being the worst offending design details. I'm entirely confident that the edition of the M 'stuff' won't have changed that - especially after seeing the photographs.
Unfortunately I don't think there is any denying the fact that it's utterly awful to look at.

Pretty sure I could...Shame, since it seems to be a good car in other ways.

When you have looked at one properly then report back. Personally I was never a fan of the standard one, a chap at work has a 118d and I agree that thing is ugly.
I will, but I'm 90% sure I'll hate it. People said the same thing about the 1M and that's still looks utterly hideous to me; this had a worse starting point. I dare say there will be one in the work car park somewhere if I have a wander around at lunch time. Those headlights on that size car just don't work; and BMW haven't really made a good looking car since the E46, IMO.

:0Frankly, with those performance stats who cares what it looks like? It's not like you can see it when you're driving it. I'm sure a dark colour would mask some of the more "interesting" design details if it's a deal-breaker.
It's a bit like Mike Tyson - small, pug-ugly but it'll knock your bks off.

True, the looks wouldn't particularly put me off buying it if I wanted that sort of car - looks have never been especially high on my list of priorities. I suspect they will put a lot of other people off, though. Amateurish said:
This car seems epic for the money. Can't see punters getting a big discount from dealers though?
I got 8.6% and people in the BMW section of the website are reporting up to 13%. Pretty good I reckon for a car that costs about the same as a similar specced GTI or Megane 265. Amateurish said:

Did you pick many options Nick?
I went pretty minimal, 5 doors manual free business speaker upgrade and heated seats! £28k. Comes with almost everything you need. I dont need sat nav and the suspension is perfect as standard. Only thing i regret not ticking is folding mirrors. nick30 said:

Great deal you got there, I agree that you don't need to tick many options on this car. Did you get the 4.9% finance as well?Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
