I wasn't there, but saw these on FB

Pretty gutted for the bloke if he wasn't the one driving, looked like a nice car.

What a fktard ....... lucky only the tree got bruised hate to think what damage the crowd could have suffered getting the car so out of shape it twanged the nearest solid object.
He was lucky to hit the tree, there was a gap in the treeline that he missed that could have led him into the side of a building.

The Malton Meet isnt a PH event is it? It's organised by others?

To be honest this is why I don't bother attending ph meets or any others anymore. Far too many undesirable idiots turning up.

Love Mustangs, but really; wine red with cloth interior? Shan't be losing as much sleep as the owner.

If they weren't there all you would get is saddoes looking at parked cars

Made my jibes before looking at the work he'd done, side exit exhausts, Bullit wheels, rear 1/4 vents for the rear windows. Not a MASSIVE deal of work but he still probably loved the car. Poor bd.

confused Utterly illogical. So if undesirables weren't there you would only get normal people or saddoes as you call them who are passionate about cars and driving sensibly?

What's illogical about it, maybe your meets should take place at a garden centre

I would rather see them parked up rather than parked up a tree!

I feel for the organisers, it's so easy for a touch of exuberance to go tits up, thankfully no one hurt. A victim of its own success maybe? these meets seem to be cyclical, rapid growth, peak, then disillusion & decline. I wonder what the police and the insurers will have to say?

Rather the building than the tree. If you are going to crash, don't hit a tree. There ain't much give in them!

Give me "saddoes" who you might get to have an interesting chat with about their cars rather than hordes of braying mongs and dheads trying and failing spectacularly to impress them any day.

People like different things, in no way I'm saying that parking a uninsured car up a tree is right, but the difference between a burn out and going for a hoon is exactly 0.

"You're on your own, mate. Oh, and you're black listed too." I expect.

Funnily enough I wrote something damning on SELOC about these meets earlier in the week. These words would've haunted me if somebody had been hurt. As it is, Darwinism seems to have been shrewdly accurate. I'm afraid I have absolutely no time for the kind of juvenile antics on display at these.

I've only been once - four years ago - but the recent videos are enough to put anybody off. I certainly wouldn't wish to be associated with the kind of tomfoolery seen there.
I realise the Specialist Cars guys are PH regulars - and probably great chaps - but it was very evident an incident like this was overdue.

I heard (I think on the other thread) that the Mustang was being driven by the owner's friend. If that's the case he was probably insured third party (i.e. the tree) only ???

Is that not the case ?
