One of the quickest cars around at the time. And still very quick today but there are now a lot of cars around that are in the same class. How many 4x4 jap cars are ther with 500-1000bhp? Still a nice car and one I would like.

Many moons ago used to work behind TT in Northampton & my office window overlooked a roundabout that this used to drift around.

A great distraction from the the daily grind.

In the same vein, maybe not quite as far from the original production vehicle, anyone remember the Rouse 304R?

Same ilk, a tuner special, and relatively few of them about.

More to the point the little thing called inertia? A "0-60" time of 4 seconds just to spin up the inertia of the drive train, wheels and dynamometer kit versus the inertia of taking a tonne of car from rest would equate to a slow car indeed. What am I missing?

I'm pretty sure I have a copy of fast lane with this in it or something very similar and it did go to 170mph. I'll try and dig it out.

And me. The second I saw it I was taken straight back to seeing adverts, probably in Car, Performance Car or Fast Lane. Can't remember seeing an article about it but will be having a determined root around in the mag library tonight.

I remember these - assumed that there were more than 3 made? Quoted top speed of 180mph IIRC - although that may have been a tad optimistic hehe

Good to see an 80's special still on the road.

Its a shame that Turbo Technics stopped doing these types of conversions. There used to be an XR3i turbo near us.

Engine shot would have been nice as that is the key attraction after all. Interesting car even if I don't buy the 4.5 to 60. Maybe once, one time for a magazine, but that was probably a long, long time ago.
