Know what you mean, if the name was sold to somebody who really wanted to and knew how to make cars in the true spirit of TVR, then yes there could be some hope for affordable sportscars which deserve the TVR badge.

Until that day, it's just sad what's going on.

Tony Fernandes - will you please buy the name off him? Would be a great partner for your little lightweight car company

As I've said countless times before, TVR could be realistically revived if it went back down the small-scale kit-car/turnkey route.

I mean, how many Cobra replica companies are there out there? If you consider a TVR's essence to be a glassfibre body, a tubular chassis and a big V8, then surely a different body for one of those chassis would actually do justice to the TVR name. And a turnkey Cobra can be had for under £30k or built yourself for a lot less.

OK, so they won't sell as many as they were in the Nineties, but so what? At least they'll exist.

Same goes for the big-engined Marcoses.

Their refusal to just die reminds me of this guy...

Perhaps they should incorporate him in the badge - definitely adds some 'Britishness'.

remind me how I felt ever time a Stone Roses reunion was mentioned or whether Ghostbusters 3 is going to be made, all through the nineties and noughties nobody ever thought the Roses would play together but they did. It is always a possibility that he TVR name will surface again but it depends on what basis when (if) it does, if its a lightly disguised MGF then thats not good but if its a good looking, yank engined lairy sportscar for a decent price then its all good.
