Unsurprisingly looks like an R18 but interested to see what holds in the powertrain department.

Still think LMP1 could stand another top drawer entry.

Anyone else looking likely; BMW? Jaguar?
TVR?
That's not as daft as it sounds, Mr Edgar did assist in getting Aston Martin back to GT Racing in 2002...

However, they did have some road cars to start off with!!
Good call on TVR....Henri Pescarolo has done it successfully for years! driving
- Though the new LMP1 regulations will demand complicated hybrid systems?

I think a GTE entry would be more sensible and likely.
Ah, but would they use an LS crate engine.... (runs for cover)

Audi must be stting it.

The end of a long era for Audi and the start of a new one for Porsche.

I cant imagine it wont be diesel if they are to compete with the R15's.

What livery? Obviously Rothmans would be the choice but sadly tobacco sponsorship is no longer allowed (classic colours like JPS and Marlboro are now history). But what about Jägermeister? I don't think booze sponsors have been banned yet? If you're not familiar with the Jägermeister-sponsored Porsche 962s then they were the bright orange ones. You couldn't miss them.

Alcohol sponsorship of motorsport is banned in France though.

Webber, S.Edwards and Heildfeld (Quick Nick).

Mega driver line up if it happens, and very probable.
its won't be sean edwards. no proto experience. neel Jani more likely
I expect Patrick Long to be racing it alongside Romain Dumas + a.n.other. Long deserves a shot in an LMP1 class car.

edited: Just read that Timo Bernhard has driven the car in the initial rollout, so my guess is he'll be the 3rd driver. smile

I am note sure - Audi have great Marketing reasons to go with deisel. I can't imagine the Porsche won't be petrol, as even though they do desiels - its not precisely 'on brand' for their high eprformance stuff.

Take a look at http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/100351 the car will be a hybrid according to those rules, non factory teams can run normally aspirated engines.

I think Patrick Long may have ruled himself out of the running, seem to remember that being reported recently.

Neel Jani and Heidfeld are being touted as potential pilots, along of course with Mark Webber, but the other Porsche factory drivers have to fancy their chances, especially Sean Edwards.

Interesting design, will be intriguing to see how much it changes, especially when they start using the 2014 tyres (which one would suspect they'll do quite soon?)

I wonder if Porsche could snatch Tom Kristensen from Audi that would be epic! And he has got a history with them.
And Alan McNish, seeing as he was the last one to win it for them and was already testing the 99 LMP1 when they pulled the plug.... in fact take the whole Audi #2 shoot

It won't be Pat Long, he is a GT man. Webber, Dumas, Bernhard, Jani, possibly Heidfeld and another more recent F1 refugee?

WEC, given a few more manufacturers will be the true pinnacle of motorsport (not F1) but then history dictates that is when the FIA will go out of its way to try to destroy it...

Interesting but I would have thought that the works drivers would have been better placed to take the controls in the car's first year. Shame if Long has ruled himself out, unless he knows something the rest of us don't.

Edwards isn't a Porsche factory driver is he? I thought they took Nick Tandy from Supercup?

Why should Audi be stting it? I think they've proved over the years they're pretty good at this type of racing? They've no reason to fear anyone!!

Since you're so sure it's the end of an era, I take it you've already put a £100 on Porsche to win? yes

I hear what you're saying but he has won in the ALMS in the RS Spyder in LMP2, so knows his LMP stuff.
