The standard car is near perfection for what it is, you buy one for the looks and the best engine noise on the planet. If you want the fastest car in the carpark simply get something else.
Spot on. If you want a Ferrari, buy a Ferrari. Maseratis are about doing it in style, not outright performance.

Not too sure about that front scoop in the bonnet but if form follows function, then...
That bonnet scoop is taken from the 2014 MC Stradale:

The models are getting fussier as they're being updated. Nicest one is the 2010 MCshift versions with the carbon bits. Not that I'm being biased or anything.

As for the power hike, why not if you can, especially if it doesn't lose the noise as is. My warranty runs out soon and spending c20k to give my car a new lease of life might actually be value for money. That is if the kit can be fitted to the other granturismo models.

Looking forward to reading a review.

A standard item pulled up beside me last night at the traffic lights in the most hideous burgundy colour.

It was still beautiful cloud9

If the bonnet scoop is not required for cooling I would delete it also the front spoiler winglets too. It would make a glorious Q car nonetheless and with that in mind....Please Mr. Lottery...pick me.

This this and this.
I pick up my GTS MC on Monday after Le Mans.
I've driven every big 2 and 4 seat Coupe you can imagine over the last 18 months, and was one of the original deposit holders on the GTR back in 2008.
Not one of them made me want to buy. Having put off driving the Maserati 'til last year as it was always too much to spend, the minute I did I was sold.It isn't the fastest, (but it's plenty quick enough),it's not the best handling, or the most grippy, or the most delicate. But it is simply something that makes you smile at 30mph, makes you feel special, and makes you want to look back at it as you walk away( and four six foot tall adults get out).
It's a long time since I've felt this way about buying a car, can't wait until Monday.

I don't understand why a decent supercharger kit for something like a Mustang or Corvette is ~$10,000 U.S., but they want almost quadruple that just because it's a Maserati? The method/technology isn't that different to justify that price.

"...should Maserati's V8 be left to sing its song uncorrupted?" No, of course not. I guess you're alluring to W.O. Bentley's assertion about supercharging. Superchargers add power, volumetric efficiency and, above all, maintain or even enhance sound, which is more than can be said for that other supercharging format, the turbo. I wish someone would make an effective supercharger kit for the Aston AMV8 Vantage with a dedicated manifold and effective cooling. These two cars the Gran Turismo and the AMV8 are, to me, the best looking cars in current production.

BTW, does anyone know who supplies Novitec's superchargers?

It isn't. But the people fortunate enough to think they GranCabrio is a bit to slow have the funds. They'd be silly not to price it like this and they would not sell more at half the price.

+1. With those looks and that noise, I wouldn't be in that much of a hurry to get to my destination.

The only thing that would concern me is the glorious burble that the naturally aspirated V8 produces, would still be as glorious with that supercharger!

Hyundai Coupe is further demonstration of this ....

I love these sweeping statements on ownership of cars. Just because Balotelli/Rooney/some random ball kicker buys one, does it automatically make the cars worthless? Of course not.

Ferrari, Maserati, Lambo and Bentley make some ruddy gorgeous cars, sod the well publicised owners - just buy whatever you like the look of.

And no-one believes the car reviews on top gear, its just an entertainment show.
