Not a fan of any of the new gen mini's at all... Should have been called the "Mini that's not so mini & that's over priced and has the worst boot in the world"...

But hairdressers, primary school teachers and guys with iced-gem hair cuts will buy them by the dozen!

OX4 6NL is the Cowley factory post code. Guess doing that saves them having to do new press shots each time the reg period number changes.
Ah, thanks. The SN3 4PE is their Swindon factory. That answers that then smile

I get why they moved the big speedo from the middle of the dash (when i drive my partners you never, ever use it and just look at the digital read out in front of you) but i cant help but think it has lost one of the defining characteristics.

Gopping. 2006 was about the sweet spot in their styling.

The bonnet line is getting higher and higher and the screen shallower and shallower. Don't dislike it but each new version of 'new' Mini seems to be a backward step design wise, still a desirable car in it's class though.

This is further proof that pedestrian impact rules are destroying car design. look how bloody high that front end is.

The back looks ok apart from the MASSIVE rear lights. Looks like they have made it for people with bad sight so they don't miss the rear brake lights

I've owned 4 new shape Minis in my time, i liked them all and yes my later R56 JCw was the most refined. But to me that R53 was the pick of all of them, It looked the best and was the real salute to the original. Once they lost the clamshell bonnet for costs was the start of milking the brand.

However this size increase, does it leave a gap now for the shelved small mini project.......

I have owned both models of Cooper S and they are terrific little cars. Very easy to own and to just get along with. And the local dealer is excellent.

I guess this will just carry on the tradition.
I'm sure the mini has many virtues but I'm not sure a small footprint is one.

Just shows how right the R53 was IMO. Lost its identity sadly, love it or hate it, you can't deny the MINI had character.

The most exciting of all 2014 cars? You must know everything that's coming out then from all marques!

If they made the front bumper less fussy, I might actually like it.

I think they got the styling just right with 1st generation new mini, it has always looked a bit podgy since.
Need to see this one in the flesh but on these pictures alone I still like the oldest new mini best.
The first one was styled by Frank Stepehenson, who also did the Ferrari F430 and more recently works for McLaren. The second and third gen MINIs were styled by Mr Magoo I suspect.....

It seems with each successive revision it looks more and more like a Chinese knock-off of the first one.
