RE: Mini Mk3 unveiled
Discussion
This is further proof that pedestrian impact rules are destroying car design. look how bloody high that front end is.
The back looks ok apart from the MASSIVE rear lights. Looks like they have made it for people with bad sight so they don't miss the rear brake lights
I've owned 4 new shape Minis in my time, i liked them all and yes my later R56 JCw was the most refined. But to me that R53 was the pick of all of them, It looked the best and was the real salute to the original. Once they lost the clamshell bonnet for costs was the start of milking the brand.
However this size increase, does it leave a gap now for the shelved small mini project.......

I have owned both models of Cooper S and they are terrific little cars. Very easy to own and to just get along with. And the local dealer is excellent.
I guess this will just carry on the tradition.
I'm sure the mini has many virtues but I'm not sure a small footprint is one.I guess this will just carry on the tradition.

I think they got the styling just right with 1st generation new mini, it has always looked a bit podgy since.
Need to see this one in the flesh but on these pictures alone I still like the oldest new mini best.
The first one was styled by Frank Stepehenson, who also did the Ferrari F430 and more recently works for McLaren. The second and third gen MINIs were styled by Mr Magoo I suspect.....Need to see this one in the flesh but on these pictures alone I still like the oldest new mini best.
It seems with each successive revision it looks more and more like a Chinese knock-off of the first one.
