I love the Spoon/Mooncraft style with the integrated spoiler. The only downside is that they look kind of odd on an S2K that hasn't been lowered a little, an extra couple of body mods and with some larger wheels. To get 'the look' is going to be expensive and I'd probably want to throw in a super/turbocharger under the bonnet to give the car some extra performance to go with it.

The real mx5 coupe....

Always thought that the MX5 coupe should have been sold in the UK. Add a cheeky turbo / supercharger kit and it'd be quite an interesting proposition.

The S2000 "coupe" thing just doesn't work for me at all - looks wrong.

ETA - add some of this to an MX5 coupe - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Actually, there was a "zeintop" hardtop for the Boxster in the pre-Cayman days that looked pretty good.

I always preferred the MGB-GT to the Roadster – why have Mazda never built/imported it. I’d like one of them.

I too love a flowing roofline - it's why I modified my MR2 with custom made elongated buttresses:

I'm a big fan of such relatively simple modifications, that change the character of the car in such a large way.
Very cool. It looks like a 355 or Testarossa in some respects from some angles, but still keeping the original identity of the MR2. It is not trying to be a Ferrari. It has its own cool shape.

ps

I love the hardtop MX5!

The S2000 hard tops just do not work anywhere as well.

Thanks - that was my intention. Mission complete, then smile

Second this, MR2 looks beautiful. I always think removing the spoiler is a huge improvement and that just improves it further.
